Lost Identity

Chapter 40

Jiho picked her up and took her to her room. There he put her gently on her bed. As he was about to walk away, he found himself tugged on by her and she mumbled out, “Don’....leave me…again”. He bent over, putting his ear near her face to hear, but she went silent. He then removed her shirt, shoes and pants, also his clothes and lay down beside her. He decided to spend the night there to make sure she was okay. 

The next morning.

Joanne woke up first. She had a splitting headache because of the hangover, and felt something heavy on her torso. Removing the blanket, she saw a hand and it was Jiho’s, who was lying dead asleep beside her. She jerked him to wake him up. He was rubbing his eyes like a baby and said, “What’s the matter? Just five more minutes and I’ll be out” in a daze and went back to sleep. She was losing it and shouted at him, “JUNG JIHO!” He was startled and jumped up on the bed. She angrily continued, “What the hell are you doing in my room, in my fucking bed?” He let out a huge yawn, “What are you talking about? You don’t remember anything about last night? You shouldn’t have drunk so much!....(whining) I can recall every second we spent together…”, acting all lovey-dovey. Joanne got furious and kicked him off of the bed and went to the bathroom. "Ooof!!”, he got up from the floor, rubbing his butt. Just then Joanne’s phone started to vibrate. He saw Mr. Marino calling her, and knocked on the bathroom door, saying, “Mr. Marino is calling you”. “Come in and pick it up for me”. He did so. But even after she was done talking on the phone, he kept standing there beside the shower. And so Joanne asked, “What are you still doing here?”. “I was thinking of saving water and showering..”. Joanne didn’t let him finish his sentence and threw a shampoo bottle at him, yelling, “Get out, you pervert!”. Jiho went out of there laughing at her. After she was done, she came out fully dressed and said to him, “Leave as soon as you can, and send me the key. I’ll be going now” and she left. She then walked up to the suite and knocked on the door. Both Mr. Marino and his daughter were ready and they went down to the dining lobby to have breakfast together. While they were eating, Joanne got a call from Jishin. He called her up to her room. She interrupted their guest, “I’m sorry, but I need to leave early. Boss needs to discuss something. Please wait in the main hall when you’re done here”. She left after giving them an apologetic smile. 

Before calling her, Jishin arrived at the hotel unannounced and went up to Joanne’s room and knocked. He was shocked to see Jiho opening the door with just a towel wrapped around his bare body ( who had just come out of the shower).  “What! You! What are you doing here? Aaaaand in a towel” he said, while running his eyes through his towel-wrapped body. Jiho let him in and closed the door. Jishin continued asking, “Where is she?”. “She’s with the Marinos”. (That’s when he called her)

Back to the present. Joanne went up to her room and turned the door knob. Opening the door, she saw both Jishin and Jiho (who was still in just a towel) standing face to face, in her room. Her jaw dropped. She immediately rushed in and shut the door. Seeing Jiho, she complained, “What are you still doing here? I told you to leave!”. He yelled back at her, “I was about to. And this is my hotel! I can stay wherever I want!”. Joanne yelled back, “But I am paying for this room, so it’s mine for the time being!”. “But I own this whole building! You can’t throw me out of here”. “But you should know where you’re not welcome and be dignified and get out of there!”. “But I’m..”. (Jishin was completely overlooked by the two, as if he was invisible to them.) He was getting frustrated at their continuous bickering and yelled at last, “Stop it, you two!”.
