Chapter 45

After finishing supper and returning to her dorm, Lisa had just put down her stuff when a call from Yeonjun summoned her out again.

She tugged on a jacket and went downstairs. Yeonjun stood beneath the street light, half of his body illuminated by the light and the other half in the dark. The contrast of light in the darkness emphasized his tall and straight figure. In the surroundings, people on the street chattered and laughed as they passed by the area. Against the mundane buzz of the world, Yeonjun seemed  to have carved out his own domain. Indifferent and reserved, he was the sole center of this world.

That was strange. Lisa scratched her head. Yeonjun obviously did not look like someone who was cold and unapproachable. However, he occasionally gave people the impression that he was an aloof person. What it due to his introverted and quite nature?

As Lisa walked over, Yeonjun lifted his eyes and saw her approach. He smiled at her.

With this one smile, his faint dimple appeared at once; it was a lively spark that brightened up his entire face. The aloof impression he gave immediately vanished into thin air.

"What's up?" Lisa tightened her jacket around her and asked.

Yeonjun's expression was a little conflicted. He hesitated for a while before answering, "Lisa, I think that Jungkook is a bit strange".

"Oh, I thought something major happened....He is been strange all long". Lisa raised her hand and pointed at her temple. "There's something wrong with him here".

With how she sprouted nonsense with a straight face, Yeonjun enable to tell whether she was joking. Thus, he asked, "Do he fall and hit his head in the past?"

"Not that I recall....why did you suddenly mention him? Dis he bully you?"

"No. But the way he looks at me is very strange".

"Why?"

"I don't know".

Lisa held her chin as she tried and failed to guess what Jungkook was up to this time.

Yeonjun watched Lisa's expression. He pursed his lips and said, "Lisa, can we not eat lunch with Jungkook tomorrow?"

"Oh?" Lisa peered at Yeonjun curiously.

"I don't want to hang out with him. And...." Yeonjun lowered his head and did not meet her eyes. His gaze landed on her shadow on the ground. He said softly, "I don't want to see you hang out with him either".

Seeing how bashful he looked, Lisa found Yeonjun more and more endearing. She quirked her lips and said, "Sure, I'll let him know".

Lisa also felt that she should keep a distance from Jungkook. After all, they were of different genders. It was not nice to always be misunderstood by others either. Furthermore, it was possible that Jungkook had someone he liked as well. It would be terrible if she hindered his pursuit of love.

Using the thoughtful and professional tone of a business manager, Lisa messaged Jungkook and expressed her desire to maintain a distance in consideration of their interests. She also mentioned that she would not be having lunch with him tomorrow and so on and so forth.

After sending out the message, she did not receive a replay even after a while.

Lisa was preparing to shower when Jungkook's call came in.

"Come down". He only spoke two words.

Thus, Lisa tugged on her jacket, slipped on her slippers, and once again pitter-pattered downstairs.
