My family always goes to the fishers beach house in cousin's since I was a baby and even before I was born so you could call it a family tradition. All year long I would count all those days until I'm back in cousin's.
Our dads come to visit but it's not their place they just don't fit in. Not the way we do, the mothers and us kids.
The beach house is made up of lots of things the beach, the swimming pool late at night, movie nights with the mums and the boys the boys most of all.
It's the same every summer that's why I love it so much. For me, everything good everything magical that happens between the months of June and August.
I'm in my room packing all my stuff for the summer with my best friend Ava laying on my bed.
"Drew's bummed you're missing the beach matchup with the boys team next weekend" Ava said
"Um, make sure you tell Sophie to square up for the block" I said
"Drew Martinez is texting me about you, and your talking about volleyball? Like are you serious right now?" she laughed
"Drew doesn't care if I'm there or not. He just wants an excuse to text you" I replied
"And you better take this game against the guys seriously I mean, team pride is on the line Ava"
"Please you know me better then that, I would never let a boy beat me at anything" she said
"I thought you were here to help me pack" I laughed
"Fine, I'll help, here's a tip don't spring that speedo it doesn't do a thing for your new boobs" Ava suggested
"It's not a speedo" I said
"I'm just saying babes like you need to pack cute things" she said
"Well I always buy a new suit when I get there" I said
"Ok so don't buy one that doesn't look like your trying out for the swim team" she scolded
"Are you serious?" I laughed
"Yes" she replied laughing
I ran at her and then started play fighting
Then I heard my mum yell from the other room
"Belly! We're leaving in the next ten minutes!"
"Ok, ive got to go" I jumped up from the bed
"Nooo" Ava groaned
"Yes" I said
"We still have ten minutes" Ava protested
"Ok before I let you go, you have to tell me your summer wish like the one thing you want to happen this summer" Ava said
"I don't know" I lied
"You little lier yes you do" Ava giggled
"You want a hot make out with Conrad fisher you want his tongue in your mouth, you dirty little slut" Ava teased
"Shut up Ava" I laughed
"I'm just saying like, you've been in love with him since we were 12" Ava said
"You've got to shit or get off the pot" Ava added
"A) that's disgusting and b) it doesn't matter what I do he doesn't see me that way" I confessed
"Oh he'll see you whether he wants to or not you look a lot different than last summer, Gracie" Ava said
I finished packing and said my goodbyes to ava I helped Steven and belly pack the car. Not long after we left for cousins.
