I woke up pretty late I checked the time and it was 10am
I jumped out of bed and realised it is my birthday I quickly got dressed and ran downstairs to say hello to everyone before I go to get Ava from the bus stop.
"Morning everyone!" I smiled
"There's the birthday girl looking amazing in your dress, happy birthday " Susannah said smiling and coming over to give me a hug
"Happy sweet 16 Gracie" Jeremiah said hugging me
"Now Gracie's getting old finally, happy birthday" Steven said eating a piece of bacon
"Thanks everyone" I said smiling I couldn't be happier
"Happy birthday sweetheart" mum said hugging me
"Thanks mum" I hugged her back
"Your Mickey Mouse pancakes are ready" mum smiled
"Actually I'm not really hungry" I said feeling bad for mum
"Happy birthday!!" Belly shouted and ran at me hugging me
"Thank you" I hugged her
"Shall we open gifts?" Susannah suggested
"Oh your gonna love mine" Jeremiah said
I smiled and then looked over to Conrad who was just sitting there
We all walked into the lounge room and took our seats and mum handed me her present first
I opened it and it was a book of poems
"It's a first edition I got it from a rare book dealer" mum explained
"Thanks mum" I replied
"Turn to the bookmarked page" mum said
I opened the book to where the bookmark was sitting and recognised the poem on that page
"It's your favourite poem" mum said to Susannah
"Oh yeah I remember Susannah teaching us to recite this" I smiled
"For whatever we lose.." I started
"Like a you or me" Jeremiah joined in
"Its always ourselves we find in the sea" everyone joined in
"Thank you I love it" I said to mum
"Your welcome" she smiled
"Okay open mine now Gracie" susannah handed me the little box that was wrapped
I opened the present and I gasped when I opened the little box it was a pearl necklace
"Oh wow" I chuckled
"There gorgeous Susannah thank you" I exclaimed
Susannah came and sat next to me grabbing the pearls out of the box and started to put it on
"My Mum gave me these pearls for my sweet 16" Susannah explained
"They look great on you sweetheart" mum said
"Oh I'm next" Jeremiah quickly handed me his present
"Thank you" I laughed
I quickly unwrapped another small box and opened it and it was a small gold key charm
"It's a good luck charm to help you pass your driving test" jer explained
I clasped it on my charm bracelet it was perfect
"Perfect" I smiled
"Thank you" I said again
"Think fast Gracie" Steven shouted
