The car ride is both a mix of comfort and awkwardness.

Comfortable for the fact that the soulmate bond is triggering, serving them genuine relief and relaxation.

Awkward for the fact that they're both silent and have just soft breathing.

Gayoon has already sensed it since the moment she sat in—the car smells exactly like him.

There's a hint of his expensive perfume and his homely body scent—classic but addictive.

He smells like a closet, a textile softener, and freshly washed bedding—all distinctive at home.

He smells like home.

There's no hint of a cigarette smell, yet she can make out a vape flavor, assuming that he's not smoking inside the car.

That's actually a relief. Gayoon doesn't like cigarette smells.

"We're here"

Donghyuck spoke for the first time in a very long while, and at the same time, he parked the car in which Gayoon looked.

"A bar?" her brows furrowed.

"The twins are already inside." He turned the engine off and unlocked the doors. "Ahh, one more thing."

He grabbed her hand and slid a red band around her wrist.

Gayoon cannot feel herself functioning well at that physical touch—perfectly lingering on her skin even after seconds he let go.

Donghyuck wetted his lower lip and looked at her. "Never take it off."

A low, demanding voice made her nod instantly.

Gayoon cannot believe that her pride is easily trampled down by his orders. It's like he has the power to make her sit and behave like a good kitten with just a snap of a finger.

Gayoon groaned and quickly followed him out, sticking close behind him as they walked to the entrance.

The guards only nodded at Donghyuck, and the latter just smiled at them.

Then onto her turn, in which the guard's eyes shifted at her arm like a scanner before nudging her to go in.

Gayoon can just follow, still in shock. Then she raised her left arm, where the red band sat tight on her wrist.

She's closely looking at the band, seeing a small cherry symbol in the center. At the same time, she bumped into someone.

Gayoon gasped, and before she could apologize, an arm wrapped around her shoulders, along with a familiar scent.

"Watch where you're going," Donghyuck spat, glowering at the person.

The man just mumbled an apology, and Gayoon was only dragged away by a firm grip.

"Don't stand far," he said, fixated on the way.
