one thing that beomgyu looked forward to after all that drama was art class, or maybe just because he likes taehyung a lot. he was approachable and extremely nice to everyone, and also because he was his favourite student.

taehyung usually greets his students from the door, greeting them with a smile on his face as the does a headcount to make sure everyone was present, and he notices that beomgyu has been absent for the whole week, so it was a pleasant surprise when he sees him in school the next week.

"well if it isn't my favourite student." he says, winking playfully at beomgyu and the student just giggles.

"is there a reason why you haven't come to school for a week?" taehyung asks out of concern, and beomgyu shakes his head.

"i've gotten it all sorted out already."

taehyung nods, before opening the door to let the other students come into the room, smiling fondly at beomgyu.

he likes being the favourite.

—————————————————————————

his artwork was at the exact spot where he left it at, since taehyung made an extra effort to make sure that no one touched or messed around with his things. his messily half painted dark blue newspapers were still at the drying rack, and he goes to take it.

he knew that he wanted to make the sea, but what type of sea was he visualising?

a calm one, where there are no waves and the water is peaceful, or a strong one, where waves crash against each other and making it too ferocious for anyone to even get across?

but yeonjun was both.

he was peaceful, but at times he'll have his moments, and he was imperfect from the perfect persona that he puts on for others to see.

whenever the both of them walk down the hallway together, beomgyu would have to deal with the constant stares at the both of them, but it was mainly at yeonjun. he couldn't blame them, since he was extremely attractive after all.

the aura that he exhibits was on a different level, his head always held high and he'll subconsciously stride instead of the usual walking that a normal person does. his hands usually stuffed in his pockets, occasionally holding beomgyu's hand whenever he hears whispering, knowing that beomgyu wasn't comfortable with everyone looking at them.

there were even times when others would pretend to get close to beomgyu just to hit on yeonjun, and yeonjun always helped him get rid of these fake and materialistic people.

he could hear yeonjun's voice in his head, saying "there's no way i'm going to date them if they are mean to my best friend."

was beomgyu stupid for falling for yeonjun? even when it's clearly one-sided?

yeonjun was very lovable.

"what are you thinking about?" taehyun asks, nudging beomgyu's elbow.

he hasn't told taehyun about his crush yet.

should he? i mean...maybe he could help?

"i'm just confused." beomgyu says.

"about?"

"my feelings."

taehyun hums, locking his eyes with beomgyu, suddenly looking very serious.

"you can tell me anything, i won't judge you."

it makes beomgyu feel a little better, and he pouts subconsciously.

"i think i like yeonjun."

taehyun stops moving, and he lets out a soft "oh".

"that's...cool."

that was a lie. taehyun could feel his heart getting torn into pieces inside of him.

"and i don't know how to channel him into my artwork." beomgyu says, laughing nervously and he looks at taehyun's face for some sort of emotion.

but his face was blank.

"maybe take his personality? since you are making the sea, you can make half of the sea calm, until it builds up to form a wave?" taehyun suggests, trying to ignore the aching pain in his chest.

"that makes sense, thank you tyunnie!"

and beomgyu smiles.

it's the stupid smile that taehyun loves.

his eyes closed shut, his usually not prominent dimples poking through his cheek and he smiles genuinely, a smile that radiates positivity and happiness.

why is he making it so hard?

"your teddy bear looks really cute too, who inspired you?" beomgyu asks, his eyes lighting up when he sees the half constructed teddy bear on taehyun's workbench.

you.

taehyun doesn't reply, and beomgyu just stares at him, with those soft eyes that were normally reserved for yeonjun.

but he gave those eyes to taehyun that day.

it really is a small thing, it's just a fond gaze, but taehyun felt so happy. he felt equal to yeonjun, he felt like beomgyu liked him equally as much as he liked yeonjun. but it wasn't true.

beomgyu doesn't blush when he's around taehyun, but turns pink every second when he's with yeonjun. their physical touch was a lot more intimate than his and beomgyu's, which only consisted of a few short hugs and occasionally cuddles when they were at a sleepover, but nothing more. no thigh grabbing, no tickling, it felt platonic.

"why are you looking at me like that?" taehyun asks, trying to sound icy, but his heart was louder than his words, and he sounded a lot softer than he actually intended to.

beomgyu leans forward, closing the distance between him and taehyun, and taehyun's eyes widened in surprise.

what.the.heck

"because you're my tyunnie, and my best friend for life."
