𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗙𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗦 {H.S}

HAILEE'S POV

"So the party is tonight...can you go?" My cousin True asked for the millionth time, "Sorry I can't" I replied as I closed the fridge, she huffs dramatically and spins around in her chair to face me, "why?, you've been saying no all week but won't tell me why" I laugh at her frustration as I place down the fruit from the fridge, "I have plans with Y/n" I admit and her eyes widen, "you're never away from your little girlfriend are you?" She asks with a smirk on her face, "she's not my girlfriend...she's my best friend" I continue making my breakfast as True sits in silence. "Oh please Hailee, I see the way you look at her and the way she looks at you, how nervous you get when she calls you pretty, the look on her face when she sees you even when you're wearing sweats, even when she is just in the same room as you, your face lights up...Haiz that's not how best friends act" True speaks again after what I can only assume was her trying to find the right words to say, "you're overthinking it True, she's my best friend and that's it"

"And then she said "that's not how best friends act"...she was overthinking the whole thing, right?" I finish telling my friend Ella what True said this morning, "I don't know Haiz...from what I've seen all that's true" Ella admits looking down at the ground, "what? You think I like Y/n too?" I ask getting quite oddly frustrated with this whole thing, "Hailee I can't tell you how you feel but think about...really think about it, how do you feel when she texts you?" Ella looks up from the ground at me, "really really happy" I can sense the blush appearing on my cheeks, "how do you feel when she enters the room?" Ella continues interrogating me, "I-uh feel like we're the only people in the room" I look up to face Ella again and see a big bright smile on her face, "Oh my stars...i love Y/n" I blurt out while staring at Ella for a moment, "you good?" She asks concerned after she realises I haven't moved yet, "I gotta go...I'll pay you for the coffee later okay?" And like something out a romance movie I take off down the street, with no exact destination as I have no idea where Y/n's apartment is from here

After what felt like hours walking about looking at the map on my phone I finally found Y/n's apartment, i gotta say I was exhausted from walking so far. I checked the time before putting my phone in my pocket seeing i had quite literally been walking for hours as it was 2.30pm when I left and was now 4.45pm. I entered Y/n's apartment building and headed up to the floor, 'what if she's not home? What if she doesn't feel the same? What shit shit shit- just because I like her doesn't mean she likes me, but the way she looks at me? What True said? What Ella said? She has to like me back' my mind was running a marathon as I went up the elevator. With my mind still racing I hesitantly knocked on her door, moments later the door opened and my heart just stopped beating. "Hailee, Hey...was not expecting you until later" Y/n spoke with a slightly confused look on her face, "you okay?" She asks noticing how out of breath I looked, "y-yeah yeah I'm good...I just need to tell you something" she opens the door wider and gestures for me to come inside

"so what's up?" She asks taking a seat on the couch as I sit down beside her, "I-I..." as I try and get the words out she gently places her hand on my thigh, "it's okay Haiz you can tell me" I stare down at her hand gently grazing over my exposed skin, "oh fuck it...I don't wanna be friends Y/n, i really like you in a way that friends shouldn't, I don't even know if you feel the same but I can't go any longer without telling you, I mean I did just only find out today but you know what I mean-" I start rambling but before I can go any further I feel Y/n's lips on mine, it took me a moment to realise what was happening but I quickly kissed back enjoying every moment, "I really like you too Hailee" she says after we break the kiss, "thank goodness...it would have been so awkward if you didn't" I sigh in relief and start laughing and quickly Y/n begins to laugh with me, "you're such a dork" as I open my mouth to reply she quickly closes the gap and connects our lips again in a soft loving kiss as we both smile into it
