Scar was going to give him some time to come clean. He had to if he wanted any chance of keeping this civil.

But when he saw Grian - his soulmate, someone he was supposed to be with, someone who he's been close to for so long now and who he's known has had to be his soulmate for what's felt like years - talking off in the shadows with Big B, a RED-LIFE, and giving him things they promised to not give to anyone, he himself saw red.

First, he couldn't have the Jellie pandas inside, and now his worries that Grian was trying to see someone else were confirmed. It hurt him so much to see someone who he knew was his trying to be with someone so sub-par, someone so close to death. They still had three lives to live together, so why did Grian want to be with Big B?

It hurt more when they were going to sleep. They wished each other goodnight after having to take all of their things and run away, sleeping on the dirty ground because they hadn't been able to make beds. He looked in Grian's eyes only to see something that made him even more worried. The bright green eyes that they were all granted at birth as a way to show how many lives they had left were tainted, the upper half of his left eye tainted a dark red.

He wanted to kill someone. Grian was supposed to be HIS. This red-life was trying to take away someone that was his. But he wanted to give him one more chance. He wanted Grian to come clean.

But he didn't.

And that was proven when Grian disappeared early in the morning. That was expected, but he didn't even leave a note. So he searched and looked for where his Grian had gone. And it didn't take long, oh no. Not at all, not when the sound of Grian's giggle was so loud and so noticeable.

"Wait, B, you're joking. You've got to be joking."

"I'm not! I'm telling you, that thing really happened."

Grian was giggling like a school girl about something said by someone dangerous. Someone who is so likely to betray him. And Scar had enough, stepping out from where he was hiding.

"Grian! There you are! I need help finding the old base, those pandas aren't going to move all by themselves! Unless you were busy, but I know you couldn't possibly be that busy." Scar said as he walked over, an unreadable look on his face. He had to mask how he felt, but he knew Grian could see through him. He knew that he'd realize that Scar had fully put the pieces together.

And he did. Oh, the look on his face was perfect.

Big B stepped just in front of Grian protectively. "Actually, Scar, we were kinda busy. We were having a nice chat, so if you could just, I dunno, leave us be?"

"Oh. I see how it is." His voice was cold as ice, though it still had a soft edge to it. Like he was still not fully grasping what was happening.

"Scar wait, this isn't what it looks like!" It was Grian's turn to step in front of the other, his wings flaring up instinctually.

"Oh, but it is. I'll see you home, Grian. Maybe then you'll be brave enough to just tell me that you think he's better for you. He isn't, I can tell. Especially not with how close to full death he is." Scar turned and ran off, a deep red tint over his vision. He could kill. He could hurt someone so much. He wanted someone to pay for what was going on. It was everyone else's fault. It was never his, he was being wronged.

~~--..--~~

"Grian, sweetheart, welcome back!" His voice was saccharinely sweet, as if nothing had happened just hours before. One of his hands was behind his back, the other holding onto one of the Jellie pandas' leads.

The small cave they were in only felt smaller.

"Scar, please, just stop. You'll only make this worse." Grian's eyes lingered off to the side, an iron door standing in one of the cave walls. "I know you already figured it out and I'm sorry, but I just don't love you. You've always been my friend, but I just never loved you. Not like how you love me."

"Oh, how he's ruined your mind." Scar hummed, dropping the lead and stepping closer. If he didn't already tower over the shorter, it definitely felt like it.

Grian backed into the wall, part of him screaming at him to run. "He's not done anything to me other than treating me like a person, Scar! Don't think I don't see how you look at me. It feels like I'm not a person, Scar."

"... You don't seriously believe that he cares about you, right? Just look at him! He's a red-life! He'd kill you the first moment he gets."

"He wouldn't!" Grian snapped, trying to shove Scar away. A mistake.

Scar was quick to pin him against the cave wall, taking his chin in his hand. "He's already in your mind. You're not safe out there. Let me take care of you." His other hand came out from behind his back, a lighter now only a few dangerous inches away from his wing.

"Scar, no, this isn't you taking care of anyone! Just let go of me!" The cold glare that came from him wasn't enough to mask the fear that Grian was feeling. His heart was racing, only getting faster when the lighter flicked open and the warmth of the flame radiated onto his feathers.

"My poor birdie, so convinced that you know what's going to protect you."

It was almost therapeutic, the way he screamed as the feathers burnt to a crisp, as all that was left of his wing was the bones that properly connected it to the rest of him.

It hurt. It hurt both of them, but Scar could only feel the anger, betrayal, the pride. He was justified.

Grian was the one going and searching for a new soulmate, he was in the wrong. And Scar could see it in his eyes, how one of them was a scarlet red, like blood. His 'chosen soulmate' had already affected him. What a joke.

"Scar, please, think about this! Do you want to die? Please, stop. It hurts so much!" Grian sobbed. But Scar needed more. He locked Grian away and went off to find Big B. It was his fault. And soon, Grian would be his. Only his.

The shock hit the server, and pain was all Grian could feel. And Scar? Well, now Grian was his. It would just be him, Grian, and his many Jellie pandas.
