we learn to walk and talk at this age
when our eyes have just opened
truly seeing the world for the first time
from babies in diapers
we've grown to unstoppable little rascals
with the energy of a fully charged motor
lithium running through our veins
we have become little divas
as if on cue we cry when we don't get what we want
and tantrums are a prerequisite to destruction
we've learned to be greedy
with affection and possession
stuffed animals are an extension of our bodies
and toys shape our personality
we have a bright future ahead of us
each door leading to a different path
but for now, we busy ourselves
with semi-solid food and playthings
