The next morning they all suit up and went out to a caffe to eat something, coincidently they met Shuji there

Atsushi: oh! Shuji san!
Shuji: oh Atsushi kun! everyones here! what a coincident!
Atsushi: are you here for some breakfast?
Shuji: mhm! my cooking is awful so i felt like going for some coffee, why dont we find a table and wiat for our order?
Atsushi: ok!

They all ordered and found a table to wiat for their orders while just chatting amongst each other

Paul: so tell me Shuji why are you so fascinated by Paris?
Shuji: oh i guess its bcz the wonderful art, the food and the view on the Eiffel tower! its all so wonderful! also a friend that i know originated from Paris but he moved to Japan to focus on his work
Paul: i see, did any family members come with you?
Shuji: sadly no, my parents died when i was 6 and i was raised by an doctor who was friends with my parents
Paul: i see... where is he now?
Shuji: oh hes in Japan doing his job ofcourse
Chuuya: would this doctor happend to like minors?
Atsushi: eh-
Shuji: well yeah he likes being nice to them if they behave while hes checking up on them, hahaha if they just stubbornly refuse he pinch their cheeks until they agree, its like hes a kid himself
Chuuyas pov: huh... maybe its not the boss...
Shuji: so why did you come here looking for some brunette guy???
Kunikida: hes a college of ours, currently hes being hunted due to there being a bounty on his head
Shuji: oh is he some kind of criminal???
Atsushi: used to... we found out he used to be a mafia member but thats not the reason why hes being hunted
Shuji: why than?
Ranpo: hes an ability user, they not only want his ability but his intelligence as well.... tho yes he seems to be a lazy idiot but when it comes to the game of minds he always have some tricks up his sleves
Shuji: ohhhhh
Paul: say what is the job of this "friend" of yours do anyway?
Shuji: i have no idea, i asked him but he said its a secret, but it gotta be a really busy 1 cz every time we talked he looked like he hasnt eaten in days
Paul: wow, and what about you? what do you do?
Shuji: ah- heheheheh ugghhh idk how to tell you sience... my job is kinda annoying....
Chuuya: how annoying?
Shuji: they came up with the most ridiculous outfits! who would actually wear it?!
Atsushi: so your a fashionista?
Shuji: yeeaaahhhh when i just wanted to eat some bread while looking around they just dragged me in, ranting and talking confusingly  between Japanese and French, i hardly understand what they said until they calm down, and when they actually explain normally, i except ofcourse, but i immediately regretted it when i saw their clothes
Atsushi: it cant look that bad
Shuji: here

He lefts some magazines on the table for them to see

Atsushi: wooaaahhhh these looks beautiful!
Shuji: huh?!
Paul: yes i cant see the down side of it
Kunikida: i see nothing wrong with it
Shuji pov:*sigh* ehehehehe.... what did i expect from you guys...
Shuji: tho these questions start to feel like an interrogation, dont tell me you guys think i kidnap your friend or something
Paul: depends... did you?
Shuji: nope, i have no benefits in capturing a stranger i didnt even knew he had a bounty on his head
Paul: we're aware... but how are we so sure that your not his relative?
Shuji: i have no siblings in my life no cousins or anything in that factor, so you cant prove anything and 3 days ago was the first time i met the guy so i have no grudge agianst him, sorry buddy but i have no leads for you to pick up
Paul:*sigh* awww man oh well

After they finished their order and left Ranpo and Shuji had a secret talk

Ranpo: how long did Dazai ask you to keep this up?
Shuji: I have no idea what your talking about
Ranpo: oh plz, you reak the smell of his stinky bandages, you really think I didn't know, he predicted that we would come here? So he asked you to help him out
Shuji: wow! You really are amazing as the news articles say you are! Mh~ well than, he didn't say I can't tell you, but eh I have no idea how long he wants to keep this up
Ranpo: seriously? I didn't just came here for bread and sticks! Uhh why does he have to go over board and drag the agency like this?! If I knew this trip has to be such a hassle of a work I stay in the agency with bags of chips by now
Shuji: awww hahahaha! Don't worry I'm sure it'll be over soon
Ranpo: whatever, just tell him to hurry up with whatever it is he's planning
Shuji: I'll try

Ranpo left and went along with the others

Kunikida: there you are, what happend back there Ranpo san?
Ranpo: i ran out of snacks and needed to buy more sweets is all
