"Xichen-ge are you sure about this?" I sat in the front seat of the car as I spoke sullenly to my brother-in-law
You see, my husband and I are detective's undercover and there was a specific job for us which required us to 'divorce'
In other words both lan zhan and I now have finances even though we were married for 5 years now
Everyone disagreed with what chief wanted but he is our boss so what can we do?
"Honestly not so much" xichen answered as he typed on the laptop after just speaking to someone on the wireless headphone in his ear
"I told you it was a stupid idea" Jiang Cheng, my brother and my partner spoke up
He may be a huge tsundere but he was the most concerned for us
"I know a-cheng but boss made us so.." I trailed off sadly
"..." Chengcheng and xichen stayed quiet as they stared at me
"You good there a-xian?" Cheng asked gently as they notice my eyes start to water
"Yeah it's just...I just can't help to wonder and worry about things" I laughed bitterly as I wiped away the falling tears
"Like?" Xichen put away the laptop to give me his full attention
"Like maybe we would actually fall for his issued fiance...what was her name again?" I looked to jiang Cheng
"Isabella Daniela Monet"
"Right"
"I mean she is beautiful so-"
"Nope that's it I can't stand by and watch two people I care about so much suffer for a stupid mission" xichen-ge suddenly spoke seriously as he started the car
"Woah there a-huan where are you taking us?" Cheng asked
"To wangji's assigned work place before you enter though a-xian I must give you a heads up, wangji's given character is way different than his so don't me alarmed"
"Xichen-ge...but the mission "
He cut me off
"To hell with the mission I'm not seating here and watching my baby brother-in-law slowly die inside, don't worry about boss, wanyin and I will take care of him"
I turned to Cheng only to see him nodding seriously
I looked between them before smiling gently
"Did I ever tell you guys how much I love and appreciate you?"
Xichen-ge smiled back gently but a-cheng however...
"Nope but it's not too late to start"
After his comment both xichen-ge and I burst into laugher
As we finally pulled into the company's parking lot I thanked my brothers once again while giving them big warm hugs
Obviously big brother xichen hugged back and enjoyed it but a-cheng, my little tsuntsun grumbled in annoyance but still hugged back
Anyways
The moment I set foot in the company I just knew some shit went down
I mean come on everybody is on edge
