can you hear me?

Can you hear me

echo through the canyons

as whispers without words?

Or lazily drawing in the glade

back and forth until it snaps?

Can you hear me

screaming with the water

pouring down above the pools

jutting out from cliffs it made so smooth?

Or following the storms

laughing with the thunder

gathering leaves in my tight grasp

midst grey brewing with anger?

Can you hear me

in my feathered sighs

my rattling breath

breathing life into the dead?

Or dancing among the wilds

humming harmless melodies

can no creature decipher?

Can you hear me

raging with the fires

stoking the coals

watching the flames match my anger?

Or prancing among the thorns

carrying the burden of snow or ash or rain

thick in piercing bramble

drawing blood of man again?

Can you hear me

twisting with the clouds

lifting into my embrace

emotions fueled by lightning?

Or dancing among the tide

pooling breaths in slothful rips

resuming a thrill in catch

of unimpeachable design?

Through storms and tides,

flames and fights,

I can find

resistance within me,

enough to hold whole countries within me

So roar and be heard, but forgotten.

A passing memory

expected but not expecting.

Can you feel me?

in all things past and present?

 I am here,

in the caress of the breeze

or force of the wind

weaving aimlessly across nor sea

but now,

only in evocation.....
