TRIGGER WARNINGS:
Light smut, internalized homophobia, and slight angst

—꧁—꧂—

Going 3 days without being able to touch Andrew was like living in hell. Elio didn't know how he was going to manage when the time came around for his tour to actually start, instead of just a show or two spread throughout the week. But he had almost a month and a half before then.

Now, it was 5:30am and he was leaving the house to pick Andrew up from the airport. They'd have almost 2 hours together before Elio had to leave for work, which wasn't enough by a long-shot, but it was better than nothing.

Airport traffic was just as crazy as he expected, horns honking as cars switched lanes in ways that would be considered illegal in any other context. He slowly made his way up to the numbered doors Andrew said he'd wait in front of. Elio let out a breath of relief when he finally spotted his tall frame leaning against the building.

Andrew looked up and they locked eyes, both smiling and feeling like a weight had been lifted off their shoulders. He wasted no time packing his suitcase into the trunk and climbing into the passenger seat, resting his hand on Elio's thigh. "The second we get back to your apartment, I'm going to kiss you and not stop until all of your clothes are off," he said, breathless.

"Good morning to you, too, sweetheart. How was your flight," Elio laughed, pulling out of the airport queue and starting his drive home. He reached into his pocket to get his phone and handed it to Andrew.

"Bumpy," he said, turning on Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald's "Dream A Little Dream Of Me" and setting Elio's down phone in the cup holder. "I'm terrible at sleeping on flights, especially overseas flights."

"Take a nap while I drive."

He frowned and looked down at his hand on Elio's thigh. "But then I won't be able to touch you," Andrew complained, staring down as the dashboard as he tried to think of a solution, although Elio came up with one first.

Elio took one of his hands off the steering wheel and held it out to Andrew. "Here. You can hold my hand while you take a nap. I'm pretty good at driving one handed."

Andrew took his hand and yawned, leaning against the door and closing his eyes. "I love you," he mumbled, already half asleep as he attempted to get comfortable.

"I love you too, sweetheart."

The rest of the ride was quiet, but Elio didn't mind it. He could hear Andrew softly snoring from beside him in the car and all of those cute noises he would make while asleep. Elio was happy just being in the same car as him.

They arrived back at Elio's apartment not too much later. It took a little while to wake Andrew up, then another to convince him to get out of the car. "I would carry you, but I'm wearing heels and the stairs are uneven," Elio explained. "I'm pretty sure Caroline would disagree with me dropping you down a flight of stairs right before the start of tour."

Andrew laughed at that one. "And I'm sure Annette would feel the same way about you."

As soon as the door shut, Andrew was touching him. A hug while half asleep turned into Andrew gently backing him up against the wall, lips moving lazily against each other, and tongues taking their time to not miss a single taste.
