Monica heard the ding from the main elevator ping and looked up to see who was headed into the office. Waiting for the doors to open and show who it was, she looked down at the time on her computer, reading that it was 11:20 am. She knew for a fact that all of the main staff had entered for the day and thought that maybe it was another delivery person dropping off a package or her intern coming in with her Richmond on Board order that she had been patiently waiting for the last 45 minutes.
Instead, when the doors opened, a woman walked off the elevator and through the glass doors of Jacobs' Co. as if she was on a runway. She wore a white turtleneck-like top that was tucked gracefully into a black leather bodycon skirt, which stopped in the middle of her chestnut-colored thighs and hugged her curves to perfection. She had decided to pair the fit with a pair of black high-heeled boots that came above her knee and top it all off with a long caramel-colored double-breasted lapel overcoat. On her eyes were the latest pair of Fendi sunglasses and on her arm was a caramel Hermes Birkin purse. Her long body wave-styled hair was parted down the middle and bounced slightly with every step she took.
Once she reached Monica's desk, she gave her a soft smile as took off her glasses, tucked them into her bag, and said, "Good morning. I am actually trying to make sure that I have the right place. I am looking for Jourdan Johnson, is he in today?"
"Yes ma'am, you are in the right place, and good morning. Mr. Johnson is actually in a meeting at the moment. Do you have an appointment to see him today?" Monica asked as she pulled up Jourdan's schedule to make sure she hadn't overlooked anything on the schedule for the day.
Zion shook her head and reached in her bag to grab her phone."No, I don't actually. I am actually here to surprise him. He doesn't even know that I am in Richmond. I could just shoot him a text and come back later if he isn't able to see me."
"Oh, no. I'm sure he would love to see you. Let me just call up and see if he is able to come down. Mr. Johnson is pretty nice when it comes to things like this."
"Are you sure? I don't want to mess up anything that is important."
"Yes, I am sure. Just give me a moment."Monica picked up the phone and dialed the number to the conference area on the floor the meeting was at.
The phone rang four times before it was picked up by none other than Jourdan himself. " Hello, Monica. Everything okay?"
"Yes sir. I am sorry to interrupt, but there is a Zion Donavan here to see you, Mr. Johnson. Would you like me to send her up?"
"Zion is here?" Jourdan's eyes lit up in excitement as he repeated her name.
"Who is Zion?" Clarissa asked, confused as to why her best friend looked happier than normal just by the sound of this person's name. "Please don't tell me you got a new boyfriend Jourdan. I am still recovering from the last prick you brought to meet us."
"This Zion is nothing like any of those other people. Zion is Zion Donavan." Baiyonni said in a teasing tone.
"Zion Donavan is here? Wow, I can't believe it." Rain's eyes grew wide as she looked between Jourdan and Baiyonni.
"Wait, why is she here to see you through, Jourdan?" Clarissa asked.
"Because she and he are an item apparently and he failed to tell his best friends. Rude I tell you and here I am thinking that we were special." Baiyonni said in pure amusement.
Jourdan let out a low growl at Baiyonni for telling all his business, especially in front of Rain, who he barely even knew. Only for it to cause Baiyonni to laugh harder. He shook his head and decided to just respond back to Monica's question.
