Two weeks before this happened, me still having no idea where the hell my father was, I was at school.
'Hi hobbit' said Adam appearing from behind me and putting his arm round my shoulder. 'Walking to torture?'
'I already told you DWARF, literature is not torture.'
'Maybe for you. You're gonna be the next Shakespeare, but it's TORTURE for me.' He answered making exaggerated face gestures.Adam was my best friend since I can remember. He made me laugh, and was there when I was sad, but don't get me wrong, I don't like him like that. He's like a brother to me.
'So,' I continued ignoring his horrible comments about my favorite subject. 'How are Chloe and you doing?'
'Fine, but you know, I noticed she's acting a little weird when I'm with you. Don't you realize?' He asked.
'Now that you say it, I do!'
'See! I don't know what's bothering her? She's just...'
'...jealous?' I finished for him.
'Chloe? Of you? No way!...' I stared at him,'you think so?' Adam asked.
'She's a girl, Adam.'
'But you're a girl too!' He screamed. Now half of the people around us were staring at him.
'I know Dwarf, but I'm not like that. It's just that it would be exhausting for me if I got mad at Cam, just because he's hanging out with some other girl for fun. I find it pointless. Like going to the mall just for fun.' I said clarifying.
'My feet get tired, I get hungry and thirsty, and then, after the 2 minutes I need to pick up something I like and suits me, I have to wait another hour for my sister!'
'I know that story Parker. And then you say you rather go hiking than doing useless shopping when you already have everything you need.' He said mocking me.
'Exactly! You get it! Anyway, I'm just not that kind of girl that Chloe is. So maybe you have to talk to her.' I finished my idea.
'Ok, fine. I'll deal with her right now. Let's go.' He said taking me towards the lockers.
'Actually, go ahead, I have to tell Cam something.'
'Yeah?' He asked. 'What is it?'
'Umm, it's personal.' He stared at me. 'Look, we started dating about 2 years ago when school started. But, we didn't get to talk about IT, you know?' I remarked that word to state the obvious.
'Oh...you mean IT. Like, how you are...'
'Yep.'
'Oh, OK, so...good luck.' He said.
Wow, that HAD to be the most awkward moment I had with him. When I got to Cameron, he was with his friends, but as soon as he saw me, he smiled, and walked towards me.
'Hi babe, how are you?' He said doing the same move with his arm that Adam had done earlier.
'Fine. Um, honey, can we talk?' I said staring at his friends making him notice that I wanted privacy. And thank God they got the point.
'Sure babe what's up?'Once we were standing in a corner alone I started THE talk. You know the one that you never want to have but you have too? Well, THAT one. I know, it's shit.
'Look, we already have 2 years as a couple. And I didn't get the chance to tell you something.' I took a deep breath for what was coming next.
'I'm a virgin.' My heart beat was now going pretty fast. He shrugged.
'And the thing is that, I wanna wait.' Silence.
'I mean, wait till we finish high school and to make sure I love my first.' Now he took a deep breath.
'Ok,' he said finally.
'What?' I was confused.
'That's ok, if you wanna wait, I'll wait.' He said with no problem at all.
'Really?' He nodded 'Oh, you're the best!'
I was so glad and relieved that I couldn't wait for him to answer this, and hugged him the second I finished talking. Gladly, he hugged me back.
I have the best boyfriend ever. I thought. And he was. A perfect boyfriend.
