Chapter 10: His Heart

I was called to a hospital. I was curious why all of a sudden but then Justin's name was mentioned so I quickly left work to go to him. What the fuck!?

"Justin De Dios po." I told the lady then she told me the room number.

I immediately ran to the room and saw Josh and Stell looking at him. He was like a dead man in a hospital bed. I walked towards them and asked what had happened to Jah.

"Krista...he never told you?" Stell asked. "May heart condition din si Justin...minor nga lang nung nagkakilala kayo pero lumala ito recently due to Ken's condition. Hindi kinaya ni Justin ang nangyari kay Ken."

I dropped to my knees as I felt my legs shake. It was all too much to understand. Bakit hindi niya sinabi sa akin ang kundisyon niya?

"Is there a cure? Mabubuhay naman siya diba? How did this all happen?" I was being hysterical, all I could think about was my boyfriend.

"He has his medicine." Sagot ni Stell. "Oo, mabubuhay siya. The doctors identified na hindi na inaalagaan ni Jah ang sarili niya, he wasn't eating properly therefore hindi siya nakakainom ng gamot niya kaya andito siya ngayon."

Naiwan kami ni Josh sa kuwarto ni Jah. He was eating lunch by the table and I was sitting next to my boyfriend. I miss my Justin.

I cupped his face...his angelic face that I would stare at for the rest of my life. I want both of us to live to...keep going para mas matagal kong makasama ang lalakeng nag-bukas ng mata ko ulit sa pagmamahal.

I felt Josh tapping my back kaya napatingin ako.

"Go eat...ayaw kong magagaya ka sa kaniya at kay Ken." He said as he pointed to Justin. "Naiintindihan ko na manghihina ka after this...wanting to be harmed than leave your boyfriend in a hospital, I know...I experienced it."

"How did you survive?"

"Pinilit ko dahil gusto ko pang makasama si Ken sa habang-buhay ko." He answered. "Naniniwala ako na magigising siya kaya inalagaan ko ang sarili ko para maging masaya kmi parehas. Naranasan kong malulong sa kalungkutan while waiting for Ken to heal kaya pinipili kong maging malusog para hindi na din siya mahirapan."

I nodded and gave him a small hug. "Thank you, Josh. Bibili muna ako ng pagkain ko."

I went to a near store to buy a simple but nutritious lunch. I decided to go with a salad and a sandwich. I ate it and went back to Jah's room. He was already awake kaya mabilis ko siyang niyakap.

All of his friends were already here with Kuya Pablo.

"Ikaw talaga, Bujah!" Ken said while pinching his side. "Kung alam ko lang na ganito ang mangyayari sana hindi na lang ako nawalan ng kamalayan."

"Nacocontrol mo? Engot." Sabi ni Jah at niyakap ang bewang ko. "Sorry po, mahal ko."

"Okay lang, please take care of yourself. Mamimiss kita palagi sa office."

"Okay lang iyan, Krista. Mayos naman ako." He said then gave me a little locket. "Always remember me."

Napatingin ako sa kaniya ng masama dahil sa mga sinambit niya. Ano siya namamaalam?

"Uuwi ka na?" He asked as I fixed my things. "Hatid na kita."

"Ha? Huwag! Ano ka ba, kaya ko naman." Sabi ko at nilabas ang phone ko.

"Ihatid niyo." Sabi ni Jah kaya napatingala ako. "Kayong apat, kapag may nangyari sa girlfriend ko ay malilintikan kayo sa akin."

"Sheesh." Ken commented at nauna na sila ni Josh.

I kissed Jah on the cheek then went out. We were all talking when all of a sudden a guy ran and hugged me. I was shocked and immediately pushed him away.

My heart was affected again. I panted loudly which caught their attention and Kuya Pau glared at Carlos. Stell made me sit down for a moment while Ken and Josh escorted Carlos away.

"Delikado ang lalakeng iyon." Kuya Pau commented while watching Josh and Ken drag Carlos away. "Whatever. Krista...are you okay? Do you want anything?"

"I-I want to go home."

"Ihahatid ko na siya." He told Stell. "Sabihin mo na lang kay Justin ang nangyari."

"No, he can't find out please..." I begged Stell. "He already has enough to think about. Ayaw kong madadagdagan pa."

"Okay. Be safe, Krista." Sabi ni Stell at tinignan si Kuya Pau. "Alagaan mo siya."

Tumango si Kuya at sinamahan na ako pauwi with Dusty.

"Thanks, Kuya!"
