You don't have to be the same to fit in with society ! you have to be together like that android commercial says
"be together not the same" Like if a friend or person says to you that you too emo or too nerdy maybe even too strange to fit in with them and have to change ...than I'm sorry they are not and never will be your real friends because if they were they wont ever care about all that , but only about the person.The soul inside of you not the skin your in.
