Chapter 20: Theodore

Bella's Pov

I walked into the Great hall sitting next to Pansy. 

"hey!" She says to me "how have you been? " I knew she had been talking about the whole Mattheo incident.

I honestly couldn't answer that question. I didn't know how to answer that question. 

"Great actually!" I say lying the best I could, forcing a smile "its actually been better than before!"

"meaning? " Pansy asks me.

"meaning ,im glad Mattheo is gone!" I say happily. 

They all give me a confused look.

"you are...?" Draco asks me. He looks really suspicious of me.

"mhm." I say taking a sip of pumpkin juice. "yeah its been quieter and I think Mattheo is a disgusting, Dimwitted, annoying, dangerous , bastard."

They all give me confused looks. 

"so you two broke up then? " Blaise asks.

"of course we did!" I say "he's the enemy! I absolutely hate his stupid, annoying face. And he thinks he's all cool killing people!"

"damn you really hate him." Pansy says to me. Does she actually believe me? Because I was mad at him but I didn't believe a single word I just said.

"Attention everyone!" Dumbledore announces across the hall."we have a new student joining our 4th years!"

Students murmur loudly. "who?" One kid says. "maybe its that Riddle kid" the other kid says. 

I know it couldn't be Mattheo, he still has a week left of suspension since technically; we already had Christmas break so that was one week.

We all waited for Dumbledore to speak again. He raised his arms ordering everyone to settle down which they did.

He waves to the side entrance for someone to walk in. A brunette haired boy walks in. He looked sort of annoyed but it might have just been his face.

"Nott, Theodore" He announces as the boy walks in sitting on the sorting stool. He didn't smile at all; he just sat down with a serious face making me feel kind of uneasy...

"Hmm A Nott eh?" The sorting hat says "ah ambitious and determined...Shall it be..." It says once again "SLYTHERIN!"

the boy smiles standing up and walking to our table. I cheered as I gestured him over. I wanted to get to know him a bit.

He takes a seat in front of me smiling. "hey." He says plainly.

"Hi" I say kindly "I'm Bella"

"I'm Theodore ,nice to meet you." He says nicely. He Seemed like an overall really nice guy.

"im Pansy." Pansy says who is sitting next to me. She grabs My shoulders Shaking me a bit. "This is my completely single best friend  who is looking for a new brunette haired but who doesn't kill people like her ex who believe it or not, got suspended now because of his killing."

Theodore looks completely taken aback. Shocked even, he just met us and Pansy's already telling him about my personal issues.

"Pansy!" I say nudging her. "1. Im not looking for another relationship and 2. I am glad me and Mattheo broke up because of his killing."

"sure..." Pansy says. She gives me a look of disbelief.

Why did she have go and make things awkward?! Me and him were Getting along fine!

"umm okay..." He says awkwardly "thanks for letting me know your best friend is single I guess." Best friend?! But Mattheo...

He smiled at me sweetly. Now he thinks I Like him! He's cute but... I just broke up with someone.

"I'm Blaise." Blaise says to him. He Looks over and just smiles at him.

-Potions class-

I walked into the class sitting at my original spot I usually sat in. Waiting for Mattheo. Why is he so late?! He does know we have class right ? Oh.... Right.

He's gone. Mattheo isn't here anymore. Well that'll take some time getting used to...

Theodore walked in sitting in the spot Mattheo usually sits in. It kinda hurt. I know Mattheo's coming back it just felt like he was trying to replace him.

"hey." He says to me grabbing a book from his bag.

"hi." I say to him. I open my book reading carfully. I read the same sentences 5 times and didn't understand a thing.

"so you know Mattheo Riddle?"  He asks me quietly not to disturb the class.

"Yeah, " I say sighing "I do." I smile at him kindly."do you know him? "

"um, yeah we're childhood friends." He says to me. "what happened at the Yule Ball. I hear people talk about it but what really happened?"

"well this guy went up to me while I was going out of the room and then we were talking and he kept trying to convince me to go to his dorm, then he put his hand on my waist and I couldn't get out of his grip so Mattheo went up to him and slit his throat."

"Thats Mattheo." He chuckles. Its like he wasn't even scared nor suprised.

"what!? He's killed people before?!" I ask alarmed.

"no,no he fought people before but never killed." He says "I just mean he can be very protective if he really loves something."

"He's been in love before? " I ask him.

"no he was protective of his mother, she was the only thing he had. It was devastating for us both when she died." He says sadly "but please, Mattheo loves you so... Just be careful with him and don't hurt him please."

"okay I won't but we're not in love anymore." I tell him calmly.

"I know you and him are still in love he told me already okay? I won't tell anyone just please don't hurt him."

Mattheo said were still in Love?! I don't know what we are but im kind of doubtful its love.

"okay." I say trying to process all he had just said.
