~~Chapter 40~~

"Now then," Akane starts. They were all back in the dining room. "According to president Minamoto, the seven mysteries each have something as a deep connection to their origins in this town. Even with the severance, it seems we can still open a path to the boundaries through those."
Teru smiles. "It's because seven mysteries are strong supernaturals. No matter what, you can't sever their bonds entirely. Just like persistent oil stains, aren't they? That's why, we were thinking that we could try from our end, to figure out which things or places they share a deep connection with."
"So, let's split up for the time being. For the younger Minamoto and Mioai, hmm... First, No. 3. You can start with the hell of mirrors."
Kou's eyes widen at Akane's words.
Akane tilts his head. "What? Didn't you get along with him? We'll look into the other seven mysteries."
"It'll be fine. If it's Kou and Mioai, I'm sure they'll notice if there's anything we're looking for." He smiles and holds up his phone. "Contact us if anything comes up!"

"I still don't understand why'd they ask me to do No. 3... I don't hate him, but..." Y/n muttered to herself, then stops in front of the school.
"Alright Kou. You knew him better then me. Any ideas?" She turns to the teen.
"Let's see..." He then went on to explain how he exactly felt about his friend, confusing Y/n. "Um... Kou?"
"Right! Sorry. Things he deeply connected to, right? Let's ask around."
And so, they did. They asked Yokou, a teacher, his club members, and they ended up getting a map from one of them.
Kou looks at the map and started to locate the cemetery.

"Here?" Y/n asks. Kou looks up. "Looks like it... There's a lot of them, huh... These graves..."
"Yeah..." She nods.
"Those photography guys gave vague instructions..."
"They've probably only been here once." Y/n deadpans. "For now, let's just start going around." She suggests.
Then, an older woman walks by, carrying a lot of bags.
She turns to watch her. A grave visit for obon? She's carrying a lot... It looks heavy.
The woman's ankle bends over, causing her to fall, sending her bags flying.
"HUH?! Oh my gosh, are you okay?!" The teen runs over to her.
"Ow, ow, ow..." The woman mutters, then turns to the younger girl. "Are you students from Kamome? Could it be you've come to visit Sousuke?" She asks with a smile while carrying a lot of flowers.

They walk into the house and looks around.
Y/n's eyes soften when seeing the cute pictures set on the shrine. They pray at the shrine, then sit at the dinning table.
His mom walks in, carrying a tray. "Sorry about that. You even helped with cleaning the grave... But his papa's gone, and his grandma lives far away, so you really saved me!" She beams, setting up tea.
"To think we'd run into his mother... We're sorry for troubling you." Y/n apologizes.
"Go ahead and eat! This is my thanks. This is the first time Sousuke's friends came over, I'm so happy~. Serving treats to my son's friends was something I'd always wanted to try."
