"how's everything going so far" Brielle asked as soon as he picked up the phone
"It's going good. the place i was trying to get into was apparently booked all day today so we couldn't get in but i had a back up plan of going to universal"
"Did you really bring them to universal?"
"yeah why wouldn't I?" Clay asked, confused.
"its expensive"
"that doesn't concern me" he responded
"okay if you say so. tell the girls i said hi"
"yeah i will"
"okay bye clay"

time skip to the end of the day because of writer's block
BRIELLE'S POV
The girls are in the back of the car passed out from the long day with clay at universal
"thank you for letting me have today with them" Clay said
"Why are you thanking me? I should be thanking you for wanting to be in their lives"
"I'm thanking you for raising two of the most beautiful and smart little girls. I'm thanking you for letting me and trusting me to spend time with them today. I'm thanking you for a second chance"
Next thing I know he is standing inches away from me and about to lean down to kiss me. this is all going too quick. I can't think straight.
i back away just before we touch
"I should be going now. the girls have to get up early for school tomorrow" i quickly said as a look of disappointment washed over his face
"i- i'll talk to you later" i rushed into the car, leaving him behind
"bye clay" i said as he was still silent
and i drove off
CLAY'S POV
"holy shit holy shit" i said pacing inside my room
"FUCK" I yelled out loud in frustration with myself
"what the hell is going on in here" nick came in concerned
"i just screwed everything up" i put my head in my hands
"i tried to kiss Brielle" i continued
"you did what" Nick asked, shocked
"I don't know what came over me. I haven't felt like that since we were 17"
"and now she hates me" I added
"You guys have children together. she can't hate you"
"She can and she does and she has every right to be mad at me. i am a complete asshole"
"like what the fuck was i thinking. barging into her life that i stupidly changed when we were kids and now i throw this bombshell on her"
"she probably just needs time to think"
"yeah in the process she will never speak to me again and i will be alo-"
"No she won't because of the kids. she always puts her kids first" nick interrupted me
