We are Rivals! -ranpoe

Chapter 1

It was a ordinary day at the armed detective agency, Dazai annoying Kunikida, Atsushi talking with kyoka, kenji peacefully sleeping, Naomi  doing some peculiar things with Jun'ichiro, Yosano on her phone and Ranpo chewing on candy.

"Ranpo I got a mission for you" Kunikida spoke up "Hm? About time, what is it about?" Ranpo questioned "a child named lily faith dawson has been found dead" Kunikida responded "Alright! I be on my way then" Ranpo said happily, before he took a step out the door kunikida had said something that shocked him.

"Your rival will be working with you on the case" Kunikida said expecting a horrible response "What!?!" Ranpo says with slight anger in his voice "your rival will be working with you on the case" he repeats himself, everyone in the room goes silent to listen to the chaos happening, "you know what? Fine I will work with him!" Ranpo said
Everyone was in disbelief because Ranpo would never give up that easily,
Ranpo storms out of the A.D.A "I can't believe I have to work with him" he mumbles to himself while walking to the crime scene, he reaches the crime scene and he takes a look around to try and find his rival, he finds him standing on the side waiting for someone, The shorter one walks up to the racoon boy,
"Hello, Edgar" Ranpo spoke up to the tall slender man, "hello, my rival" edgar welcomes him. Ranpo walks away from the taller man to investigate the body, he pulls his glasses out of his pocket and flicks his wrist to open it and he gently places the glasses on his face.

"How strange" Ranpo says with confusion "I thought you were the world best detective" Edgar says with sarcasm "I am the world's best detective! It just this case is-" "complex?" Edgar cuts Ranpo off "yes.. this case is complex, my glasses are useless for this case." Ranpo says while flicking his wrist to close his glasses and places it back in his pocket "how unfortunate for you." Edgar says while laughing a bit, it goes silent for a moment. Ranpo walks away from Edgar, Edgar follows behind him, Ranpo turns around to face him "we have some areas to investigate at" Ranpo tells the taller man "let me guess, you want me to take you to the train station so we can get there?" Edgar questioned, the shorter man nodded as his response Edgar sighs and leads him to the train station.

The 2 get to the train station, "your paying for the tickets Edgar" Ranpo says to the taller man "i already payed for it" Edgar says while handing over a ticket "Thank you Edgar Your the best!" The shorter man says happily, Edgar gets surprised because he actually said something nice  for once, he get flustered when he thinks about the complement he hasn't realized he is turning red, he starts hearing laughter he turns to look at his small rival "i guess you like complements don't you~?" Ranpo says in a teasing tone " b-be quiet..." he mumbles getting more flustered by the second. "Alright then, c'mon let's go before we're late!" Ranpo declare he starts going ahead, Edgar just follows him assuming he knows the way,

Astonishing he actually knows his way, now they are just patiently waiting for the train to arrive in silence, the train interrupted the silence between the both of them, they both take a step on the train, they take a seat next to eachother, the ride there was also silent.
