𝕿he raven sky was dotted with cerulean lanterns, twinkling beautifully amidst the darkness. Wilting branches outstretched to the sky, croaking its thin hands into the air. Every tree within the mansion was malnourished, its wooden bones displaying itself in front of you. To be honest, the mansion was morose as a cemetery, cordially inviting to bury yourself six feet under.

"How sweet," you thought, licking your parched lips. It seems that you were just as pale and drained as them. Draping yourself with a dark chenille blanket, you managed to keep yourself warm...slightly. You'd never thought Hell could be freezing cold! No matter how close you were to the fireplace, its raging flames never seemed to spark any warmth across your body.

Luckily, you knew you would adapt to your surroundings soon enough. It was only a matter of time, right?

"Sly."

"It's Slyvester, human." He tossed another log into the fire, his tinted glasses reflecting the fire's ochre glow. "Anyways, what do you want?"

"I just need answers, that's all." You shrugged before continuing. "So. Did you leave me at that market on purpose?"

"Oh, you mean the Sapphire Rose Market?" He sat down on the plump, lime couch opposite your side.

"Yeah, that."

An enthusiastic grin formed upon his countenance.

"Of course I did."

Immediately, a sour glare conjured within your eyes, the flames reflecting your ire. He chuckled in response. "The Madame said to give you a tour, and a tour I gave."

"That tour could've killed me, Slyvester."

"She never said you should come back in one piece~" Word after word, your anger began to boil; yet he remained composed, staring at his golden watch. "And I'm sure it made the tour much more entertaining for the both of us."

Wordlessly, you sat up from your seat, unwilling to continue the conversation. "Sorry Slyvester, but can you please take me to my bedroom?"

He adjusted his glasses, stroking his well-cut beard.

"Unfortunately, time is not on your side. I was told that your bedroom would be prepared around two voltnight."

You raised an eyebrow.

"Oh. Apologies." His pearly fangs embellished his human-like features. "In human terms, that would be 2 A.M."

Sitting right back down in your seat, you stood there, baffled. Did you really spend an entire day here?

"I don't blame you for being so shocked." Taking a small mirror out of his pocket, he ran his claws through his gelled hair, searching for tangles. "After all, you have a sun in your world, right?"

You tilted your head in silent confusion. If this isn't preposterous, you didn't know what was.

"You've got to be kidding me."

"I'm not joking. The reason we don't have a sun is because your creator despises rebellious, destructive beings like us." His pride was overflowing, filling the corners of his slightly wrinkled face. "Though I'm surprised how he hasn't decided to kill us yet."
