tw bullying

Nothing could have prepared them for what happened next.

The following morning they walked their way to the campus. Of course, Taehyun was still somewhat paranoid and anxious about the incident that happened. He didn't know how those people came to know about him.

Perhaps, it was just pointless bullying. He liked the idea of that being the reason than being forced to come out.

If he were to face that again, he knew what he had to do. Besides, he had Yeonjun with him. He was everything he needed.

Yeonjun insisted on accompanying him to his department building and Taehyun just couldn't say no. He could use some moral support. Making their way to the lockers, it was eerily quiet around them. Taehyun grew anxious again, hypersensitive to every whisper that he could hear.

The piercing gaze of everyone around him didn't do any good.

It didn't feel all that good.

That was until he opened his locker and a bunch of papers and posters fell out from it. Angry red markings and black crosses stood out.

Taehyun could feel the pang of pain in his throat at the sight. Hands trembling, he picked up the poster that lay among the pile of crumpled trash.

A picture of Taehyun and Yeonjun in the abandoned ground.

Brain going into overdrive, the younger couldn't comprehend the situation anymore.

Everything from his past had come back to haunt him. Every single curse hurled at him came rushing back. The looks of disgust towards him from everyone he knew, including his teachers. His caretakers probably believed the rumors too.

Just when he thought he could have a new beginning, everything plummeted down to the ground.

In his shock, he'd completely forgotten that his lover had been standing right behind him.

All Yeonjun saw was red.

"Hyunnie, please get out of here. It's gonna get ugly now," he said through his teeth.

But how could he leave Yeonjun just like that?

Their faces were clearly visible on the numerous posters and there was nothing there could be done. He should have known. If only he wasn't gay, he wouldn't have had to face this mess.

Did God really hate him that much?

Why did he have to pull Yeonjun in with his mess? It was terrible enough alone.

Guilt gnawed on his skin and Taehyun didn't realize he was breaking into his skin with his nails until Yeonjun held his wrist and pulled him out of there. The burn from the scratch brought him back to reality.

"Just get away." He seethed with anger.

Tears fell from Taehyun's eyes as he tried to stop the elder man from doing anything stupid but he was far stronger than him.

Yeonjun stomped back into the building and caught one of the students by his collar who'd been laughing and cursing out the both of them.

"What's so funny, huh?" he snarled at them, taking threatening steps.

Without missing a beat, he landed a punch right under the student's jaw. And then another punch.

Pulling him back up by the collar, Yeonjun glared at him, "Dare you say one word against Taehyun."

He let go of him, wiping the sweat off his face, back towards Taehyun who'd been standing, anxiously waiting for Yeonjun.

"Watch out, Choi. His little disease might touch you too." Someone yelled from behind him.
