Sitting out in the waiting area, Taehyun shook with anxiety taking over his system. There was absolutely nothing he was able to do to help Yeonjun except to wait outside. He tapped his foot impatiently against the floor hoping and praying that this all would be over soon and that he'd just wake up from a terrible nightmare.

His mind ran a million times per minute. In the span of a few hours, there was too much that had happened— some of it that could cost a life.

Chills ran up his spine thinking about the pictures that were thrown at them. Everyone's gazes felt so familiar— in a bad way.

The same stares he'd gotten a few years ago from his own classmates. He'd hoped he would never have to think about it again. But there he was experiencing it all over again.

The thought of anyone from outside coming to know about anything that happened scared him. Even more when he figured that Mrs Choi would have found out about the whole fiasco; she was already on her way to the hospital after the nurse had asked to call in a family member for some formalities to be fulfilled.

Shit, shit, shit, shit.

He had not thought about the consequences that would come when she found out about Yeonjun's preference in love.

This would not go well.

Taehyun's panic rose up by a level when he began thinking of ways to counter any allegations that would potentially ruin the relationship between Yeonjun and his mom. No matter what, that was something he couldn't afford to ruin.

Mrs Choi had arrived moments later while Taehyun was pacing around the hallway.

"Where's Yeonjun?" she asked the moment she arrived.

Tensing up but answering either way because he needed to make sure he didn't get her worked up. "He's being checked up right now. They're performing tests on him— it might be a concussion but nothing more serious."

She let out a visible sigh of relief he'd hoped.

She slumped down on the chair there, holding her head with her hands.

Taehyun hesitated to speak but did so anyway, "E-eomma... are you okay?"

"Yes, dear— It's just that we lost his father because of an accident and now seeing him in this state scares me," she rubbed her hands on her face and Taehyun could imagine how she must have felt at that moment.

Losing a close one, Taehyun was no stranger to that feeling in a different way of course. He never knew what it was to have parents with you. With her in his life, Taehyun felt like God had finally given him another chance at life— which he seemed to be failing miserably.

Perhaps, God didn't want people like him to exist either.

"You're Choi Yeonjun's mother?'' The sound of the doctor prevented Taehyun from spiraling down into the darkness of his thoughts.

"Y-yes. I am," she stood up immediately rushing towards the doctor, "Is he alright? Can we meet him?"

"Ma'am, please calm down. Your son's completely okay. It was a minor concussion. We've given him the sedatives so he's currently asleep right now but you can meet him if you wish to."

"Thank you so much, doctor."

Nodding, the doctor walked away, giving them privacy. As much as Taehyun wanted to go in first, he let Mrs Choi do that. He'd already created much trouble for Yeonjun.
