CHAPTER 8

After relishing the delicious dinner, everyone retired to their respective rooms to rest. But Deepika wasn't in the mood to sleep so soon. Once Munna and Pandit too had left for their homes, it was only Sameer, Naina and Deepika who were sitting in the living room.

None of them were feeling sleepy, so they chatted for a while. For the next one hour, Deepika continued talking with Naina about her friends, her studies and the places where they could go for sightseeing for the next few days.

All the while, Sameer was just sitting there and listening to his sister's rants. Though he was tired hearing the same old stories from her, he kept quiet and let Naina and his sister bond happily. He could clearly see that Naina was happily concentrating on his sister's talks and was enjoying it too.

After few minutes, Deepika started yawning which didn't go unnoticed by Sameer and Naina. Her brother spoke, "Deepu... lagta hai tum baatein kar karke bohot thak gayi ho. Ab time ho gaya hai ki tum so jao aur hume bhi shanti se sone do. Naina ka toh pataa nahi par main tumhari boring si baatein sunnkar bohot bore ho gaya hun. Ab zara mujhpar aur Naina par taras khaao, aur hume bhi sone do. Jitni baatein reh gayi ho, wohh baad mein kar lena. Main aur Naina kuch din aur rehne waale hai yahaan. Toh please ab hume baksh do."

Naina wanted to laugh out when she saw Deepika's fuming face, but she controlled and instead, chided him, "Kya Sameer? Aise kaun apni behen se baat karta hai? For your kind information, uski baatein bohot hi interesting thi." Turning to Deepika, she said, "Tum apne Bhai ki baaton par dhyaan mat do Deepu. Main bilkul bhi bore nahi hui hun tumhari baaton se. Tumhara Bhai hi boring hai, isliye usse baaki sabki baatein boring lagti hai."

Deepika smiled widely and teased her brother, "Dekha Bhai... Finally... koi toh aisa iss ghar mein aaya jo meri side le aur aapko boring kahe. Hamesha sabne aapki hi side li hai, ab Naina mere side mein hai." Looking at Naina, she asked, "Hai naa?" Naina nodded happily and in the next moment, she was engulfed in a tight hug by Deepika.

Seeing them in a tight hug, Sameer was happy. He pouted and teased, "Yeh cheating hai Naina... tum meri best friend ho, toh tumhe meri side leni chahiye, iss shaitaan ki nahi." Naina replied, "Haan... bhale hi tum mere best friend ho, par iska yeh matlab nahi hai ki main hamesha tumhara hi saath dungi. Deepu itni sweet hai, cute hai aur haan... tumhare jaisi boring nahi hai bilkul bhi. Aur agar tumne kabhi meri Deepu ko pareshaan kiya naa toh mujhse bura koi nahi hoga. Samjhe Mr Sameer Maheshwari?"

Sameer was happy that Naina was siding with his sister. Yet he huffed in anger in a fake way, "Thik hai, thik hai... mujhe tum dono ki koi boring baaton mein koi interest nahi hai. Main... main sone jaa raha hun. Goodnight..." Saying that, he was about to leave when his sister held his hand, "Ab drama band karo Bhai aur yahaan Naina ke saath baitho. Mujhe neend aa rahi hai, toh main jaa rahi hun sone." Turning to Naina, she kissed her cheeks, "Goodnight Naina... kal subah milenge."
