DELIVERED

Christ is my hope and my deliverer
During my darkest days He held me close
It felt like I would never recover
Depression afflicted me with a large dose

I felt like soon I would surely drown
Within a black sticky miry abyss
Day by day week after week it held me down
I did not want my life to end like this

I prayed to my Father please help me rise
Above the darkness that blackens my skies
If you don't I will soon meet my demise
A light shone around me—His voice said arise

I have a plan for you my dear sweet child
Satan will not get you because you are mine
Lay your eyes on my Son who is meek and mild
This deep dark depression has made you blind

It pains me child to see your discomfort
Within the dark tunnel you will soon see light
I'll send the Comforter to give you comfort
You'll be delivered back into the light

Amen!
