NAALIMPUNGATAN ako sa sikat ng araw na tumatama sa aking mukha. Dahan-dahan akong nagmulat ng mata at bumungad sa akin ang nakakasilaw na liwanag sa paligid kaya napapikit akong muli. Dahan-dahan kong iminulat muli ang aking mga mata, trying to adjust my eyes from sudden brightness around. A white ceiling and a white wall, welcomed my gaze. Napatingin ako sa paligid at naramdaman ko ang mga kamay na nakahawak sa kamay ko. Later I did realize I was in the hospital. Parekoy was beside me, nakaupo lang siya habang nakasandal siya sa hinihigaan ko at natutulog. I touched his head using my freehand para sana gisingin siya. Naramdaman kong gumalaw siya at napatunghay. Nagulat kaming dalawa for a sudden dahil sa bumungad sa aming harapan, unexpectedly dahil nang makilala naming ang isa't isa. I thought the guy beside me was Parekoy, it was Vance. Ngumiti siya sa akin ng may pag-alala at ngumiti rin ako sa kanya. He caressed my cheeks with care.

"I was so scared. The last five days you were unconscious, I feel like I'm dying," malungkot niyang sabi at naluluha ang kanyang mga mata. I can hear longing in his voice. Napakunot ang noo ko sa sinabi niya. What?

"You mean?" naguguluhan kong tanong sa kanya habang nakatingin ako sa kanya in disbelief..

"Yeah. Wala kang malay ng limang araw. And I was thankful you're conscious today," sagot niya sa tanong ko.

"What happen? The last thing I remember was when I fainted after parking my car inside the vicinity of the school," I uttered while I tried to remember what I did the last time before I lost consciousness.

"After we arrived at the school, the next morning, I gained my consciousness in the hospital too," he answered kaya tumango nalang ako. Napangiti siya sa akin saka naman tumulo ang mga luha sa kanyang mga mata. I extended my hands to him as he leaned over and I cupped his face, wiping his tears using my both thumbs. "I'm happy that you're awake. I love you," malambing at matamis niyang sabi at ngumiti. Napangiti na rin ako sa kanya. He leaned over again while I wrapped my arms around his neck. He kissed my lips and I closed my eyes. I thought it was just a quick peck but he stayed there unmoved. We were like that for a moment and he pulled away. And when I opened my eyes, he leaned over again to kiss me on my forehead.

"I love you too," I uttered while my arms were still around his neck. We stayed like that for awhile and moved away from the hug. He was looking at me in the eyes and in awe. He smiled and I smiled too.

"Do you want anything?" he asked breaking the silence.

"I'm famished," I uttered smiling. He nodded in response.

"Well, I'll be out to buy foods and I'll tell your doctor, you're already conscious," he said sweetly and gave me a quick peck on my lips. "I'll be going then," he said and I just nodded in response. Nagsimula na siyang maglakad palayo at nang marating niya ang pintuan ay humarap siyang muli. He smiled and I nodded. Turning his back at me, he opened the door and walked out of the room, closing the door from behind. I lied down the bed comfortably and rested my back. I'm thinking about what happened the last time when we were in the forest out of the school's vicinity. Sino kaya ang taong nasa ilalim ng gustong pumatay sa akin? How is he related to that guy I killed few years ago? Nakatulala lang ako sa kawalan habang nagiisip ng mga bagay bagay tungkol sa mga nangyari at pilit na pinagtutugma ang mga unfolded puzzles. Pero sa mga nagdaang oras ng aking pag-iisip ay mas lalong sumasakit ang ulo ko. I was out of my penny thoughts when I heard the door creaked open. Napatingin ako sa may pintuan at nakita ko ang isang pamilyar na babae. I was blankly staring at her when I realized she was, Dawn-Vance's ex-first love. She was hesitant to enter in the room.
