Y/ns Pov
Natasha, was pulling me with her, Cloud was tying up my hair as it wasn't up anymore and it was up in a half up half down, with two pieces of my hair dangling on either side of my face.

"But you're not even the first mother that abandoned me" Nat said walking away from the light switch.

"No, you weren't abandoned. You were selected by a program that assessed the genetic potential in infants" Melina explained, she was by a bookshelf and the wall where Nat turned on the light was making the two rooms separate.

So Melina was in the sitting room and Natasha and I were in the kitchen.

"I was taken?" Nat said, walking closer to Melina. "I believe a Barton was struck, your family paid off. But your mother, she never stopped looking for you. She was like you in that way. She was relentless" Melina explains.

"What happened to her?" Natasha asked.
"Dreykov had her killed. Her existence threatened to uncover the Red Room. Normally the actions of one curious civilian wouldn't warrant an execution. But as I said she was relentless" Melina explains.

I hug Nat as she was crying a little. "I thought of her everyday of my life. Whether or not I admitted it to myself, I did" Nat said, hugging me, resting her head on mine.

Melina, takes a step closer, "I've always found it best not to look into the past." Melina explains. "You are right about that" I muttered to them

She let go of me with her right arm, but kept her left around my waist. saw a book on the bookshelf and she took it. I looked at it too.

"Then why did you save this?" Natasha asked. No answer. Natasha then opened it .

It had pictures of Yelena and Natasha as little girls.
I gasped so loud and said, "AWWWW!! NAT, YOU WERE ADORABLE" I then kissed her cheek, I had to go up on my tippy toes.

"Can I?" I questioned Melina, "Go ahead" she smiled.

Nat gave it to me send send went to the table and looked through the pages.

Natasha's Pov
I look at Melina as she began to say ,"You got quite the catch" I said ,"I know, she's the best thing thats ever happened to me, and if she got hurt because I couldn't protect her. I- I'd never forgive myself " .

"Why are you doing this?" I asked, changing the subject

"Why does a mouse born in a cage run on that little wheel?" She asked. I shrug in respons
"Do you know, I was cycled through the Red Room 4 times before you where born? Those walls are all I know. I was never given a choice" she explained

"But you're not a mouse, Melina. You were just born in a cage, but that's not your fault" I say, tearing a little.

Melina softly scoffs "Tell me, how did you keep your heart?" She asked, sadly.

"Pain only makes us stronger. Didn't you tell us that?" I asked ,"What you taught me kept me alive" I explained

"I'm.... I'm sorry, I already alerted the Red Room. They'll be here any minute" Melina explains.

I let a tear fall and say ,"Don't let them hurt y/n" "Their hurting no one, come with me" melina said, but she gave y/n a drink, first, y/n drank it and fell asleep.

She almost fell off the chair, but I caught her. I put bring her with me, and we make our plan.

TIME SKIPPP
Yelena's Pov
Alexi was shot by these sleeping darts and I got my gun ready, as we are being attacked.

I look around carefully. I get to the hallway leading to the kitchen, and Nat and y/n are both on the floor, passed out.

I hear footsteps behind me, it was Melina, I lowered my gun and she said ,"I'm sorry" she then tazed me and I fall to the ground, everything going black.
