"There you go again... why can't I surpass you" gulf asked as mew explained to gulf yet again why he thinks gulf isn't taking a promotion
"Because I like you" mew answered just like he did earlier causing gulf to slowly take his hand away from his cheek which was resting in the table stRing into mews eyes
"What?" He asked was he just playing or something? Gulf thought to himself
"I'm mean.. like I said earlier I like working with you" mew finished looking away from gulf and down at his plate gripping the fork and knife in his hands
"Oh.. I see thanks" gulf mumbled before resting his face back on his fisted hand
"I leaned everything I know about working by watching you day in and day out... that's why I've grown into such an outstanding subordinate"
mew muttered and gulf watched as mew ate another piece of his pancake, Leaning back as he folding one leg over another gulf looked a little taken aback
"Are you complimenting yourself?" He mumbled loud enough for mew to hear
"I've watched you all hours of working so I was even able to see the early symptoms of your menopause" mew spoke before drinking his newly fresh cup of coffee
"Wait I have menopause, isn't it a bit too soon" gulf leaned forward unhooking his crossed legs putting his hand against the window which was beside them
"Yes true your still 39, it's way too soon even at 40 so basically your still young" mew commented and gulf sighed a bit
"I have my doubts" gulf whined a bit watched mew cut his still almost full pancake while his own way almost gone
"Regret can lead to happiness and fuel your life" mew spoke cutting the pancake softly
"Ohh.. I've heard those words before" gulf looked up his face brightened as he thought
"I've learned them" mew said
"From who" gulf responded fast almost right after mew spoke
"I want to help you so you can burn that fuel and become happy" mew said looking at gulf for a split second then back at the pancake he was still cutting a piece of
"I'm just your coworker and slight boss" gulf said his words a bit muffled by his hand which was under his chin pressed his lips closed
(A/N gulf helps Joel sometimes with the paychecks and stuff because she is an older person she sometimes doesn't feel like doing it so gulf helps her thats why she wants gulf to have her position when she moves)
Mew didn't respond yet finished chewing on his small piece of pancake and drunk his coffee
"Anyways before you menopause gets worse let's think of countermeasures" mew spoke drinking more of his black coffee
"Are you talking about anti-aging" gulf asked
"Yes" mew stopped and smiled a bit before continuing
"First, consume your fuel and temporarily increase your serotonin go ahead" mew said pointing to the blueberry muffin he ordered for gulf after he got more coffee
Gulf wasn't a big blueberry fan he wanted the regular muffin or chocolate would do but mew declined his wants and gave him blueberry instead, It's the top order for muffins and mew knew gulf hadn't eaten one before
"Okay I got it" gulf sighed before picking up the small muffin biting it before looking at mew his eyes wide just like when he ate the pancakes
"How's the taste of regret" mew asked his voice soft as he stared down at gulf who looking up at him
