Whenever I heard the word "vampire", I thought of them living in a medieval, baroque, or whatever antique castle it was. They would always wear thick and dark vintage clothes like they were stuck in 15th century. They would have these greek god features-yet too pale-and elongated fangs as they suck their prey on the neck. They were a hundred or a thousand year old blood suckers who still looked on their 20s' and could not get out under the sun-typical vampire characteristics that I often read on novels and articles. And of course, their eyes should be bloody red!
But this... this vampire infront of me was just different.
He was wearing an oversized beige hoodie, cottony-black sweat pants, and white sneakers while leaning against his Bugatti La Voiture Noire under the sun, as his daunting gaze were fixed on me. Those upturned brown eyes of him were just spellbinding. His black hair was ruffled by the wind and it made him looked like a car endorser. And okay, he looked aesthetically pleasing!
Pati mga vampire ngayon, aesthetic na rin!
"Why are you looking at me like that?" he suddenly asked. "You're checking me out, huh?"
Oh gods! Have mercy on me! His voice were sinfully cold, deep, and beautiful! I'm not your strongest soldier po!
"Oh, I get it now. I look like those guys on Pinterest, am I? I'm handsomer than them though." He smirked and got his cell phone from his pocket. He was scrolling something then diverted his gaze on me again as he showed me the screen. "You can follow me on Instagram so you can be updated of my OOTD. @urblazev is my username."
And did I say, he looked modern? He is! He didn't look like a vampire at all! The way he dressed, the way he act, and how active he was on social media! Mas active pa nga sa akin ang lalaking 'to! I don't even have an Instagram!
"Your blood really smells nice and sweet, Laurice..." He walked closer and stopped just inches away from me. Pigil ang hiningang napako ako sa aking kinatatayuan nang ilapit niya ang mukha sa akin at maramdaman ko ang hininga niya sa aking leeg. Ang bilis na rin ng tibok ng puso ko sa kaba na baka kagatin na nga niya ako dahil binalak ko kahapong i-upload ang video niya sa rooftop na umiinom ng dugo. "but I like to drink milktea these days," saad niya sa namamaos na boses saka lumayo sa akin at naglakad paalis.
What did he just... say‽ May vampire bang mas pipiliing uminom ng milktea kaysa dugo‽
Oh, right... I forgot he's a modern day vampire.
