We went back to Manila. Three months had gone so fast. I haven't heard from Migz since then. But I hope he recovered fast and able to go to work again. Today I'm going to have a meeting with the public attorney who will defend those farmers that has been deprived from the land they deserve. It is in our constitution that if the farmer has been working for the hacienda for years, he is entitled to receive a small part of the land.
POV: I was in my office when my staff came in.
Joy: Ms Loren, the public attorney is already here, should I let him come now?
Loren: Yes, please send him in.
Joy: Ok Ms Loren.
Joy to the Lawyer: Sir please come inside. Ms Loren is waiting for you.
Lawyer: Ok Miss, thank you.
POV: He was in the office now. He was mesmerized by Loren's beauty. He was so excited for this day. She adored Loren as a politician and as an environmentalist and a journalist. She never age. She look prettier in person.
Lawyer: Good morning Ms Loren. I am Adel Tamano. The Public Attorneys Office sent me here today.
Loren: Yes. Please take your seat. I just have some few words for you to take note. I assume they already informed you why they sent you here. (while scanning here notes)
Adel: Yes Maam, they said you need a lawyer for the farmers in Hacienda Luisita.
Loren: Yuh thats right. So here's the thing, in our law RA9700 or CARP (Comprehensive Agrarian Reform) states that our farmers who have been working for five years are eligible to receive part of the land where they were farming, now the problem is yung mga gahaman na haceindero hindi man lang naawa at hindi ipinamigay ang lupa na dapat ay para sa mga magsasaka.
Adel: Yes thats right Maam, that is the sad reality. The republic made laws that protected the least fortunate people but it's so disappointing that the oligarchs are not complying those laws.
Loren: I know thats why I need you. I ask the head of Pao to send me someone who is brilliant,you must be the most qualified lawyer in your office.
Adel: Hindi naman po mam, baka ako lang po ang pinaka cute (sabay smile para makita ang malalim na dimples)
Loren: Ay naku! joker ka din pala. Oh sya! I expect you to be ready any time soon, I will ask the Chief justice to review this case first so we can have the hearing as soon as possible. I don't want the farmers to wait for a little more, they've been waiting for so long already. Lets make their chrismas a merry one.
Adel: Makakaasa ka po Maam. Just a questino.
Loren: What is it?
Adel: I was wondering if you will be there during the hearing.
Loren: I can't promise but if I have time, I will be there. I want to be the first person to see how the oligarchs lose the case.
Adel: Ok maam. Im looking forward to see you in court. By the way, you look prettier and smaller in person. Im a huge fan of yours since The World tonight.
Loren: Oh thank you thank you, those were the words i needed to hear today.
