"Hahah,, the rise of the temperature seems to have had an effect on you too" you heard Ayato joking with a guy near the inazuman docks in Ritou were you both have had arranged to be your next meeting spot on this warm sunny day,, he caught your eye and you couldn't help but notice that after he had finished his chat with the friendly person he started to look around for your presence,
'his face lit up pretty quickly as he had spotted you into the crowded docks and started to come up to you to greet you properly,, you had no idea why he wanted you to meet him there especially during a heatwave, yet you agreed to his suggestion,,
he approached and bent half over as he put his hand close to you asking for your hand, you gave him the chance to continue by placing your hand in his, watching him intertwine your fingers with his as he gracefully lifted your hand and placed a delightful kiss on the back of your hand and opened his eyes with a slow pace to meet your gaze, you felt his smile against your skin ,,
he used to greet you this way from the first time, however even if it was expected from him you were still found in a shade of light pink, a form of comfortable silence fell between the two of you, all that could be heard was people happily chatting as well as the waves hitting the ships and boats,, even so, every word that could be spoken amongst you was said through your kept up eye contact,, despite that, "shall we continue according to my plans?" Ayato had a few things to state slightly tilting his head and looking in your eyes waiting for your approval,
"as long as it's worth it"
you jokingly said and he giggled taking both of your hands, dragging you with him,,, by the way he was looking at you and maintained eye contact it was obvious that his intentions were going to be enjoyable and safe for the both of you. He was following a sand path with your hand in his holding it tightly yet gently not intending to hurt you in any way, you could hear the waves hitting the shore and the nearby rocks as well as the pleasant sound the sand made when you took each step ,, you couldn't help but notice that he was too carried away by the scenery, he looked so carefree for those few moments just like the leaves that are guided calmly by the breeze until they eventually reach the surface of the sea,, just like they reach their destination you reached yours. You had arrived on the hill that was located at a nearby island, he slowly let go of your hand and stood by a tree which was blossomed by the season and with some of its leaves falling from the gentle wind,,
"so? what's on the agenda for today?" you asked full of curiosity,, his answer was simple "well earlier I spent some time discussing matters with the Crux fleet and my eye caught the young samurai trying to cheer up captain beidou by playing a tune on a leaf, so I figured.." ,,
he caught a leaf stoppint it from its track to an unknown destination,, ".. I could do the same with my special person" He continued his sentence as he gradually folded the leaf in half like kazuha had done and made his first attempt by the fresh memory he had from the samurai's tactics ,,
the sound he made wasn't much of a whistle let alone a tune
but his reaction and his facial expressions were enough to make you feel at ease,,, after a few tries he let out a soothing melody to which he was surprised but really proud of "ah I believe I should leave these kind of things to the people that are used and talented at them because even.." ,,, your eyes started flickering because of the fatigue the temperature made you feel trying to keep them open, yet Ayato noticed and sat down by the tree as he patted the grass between his legs asking you to sit down.
After you took your seat he asked for your consent to lay your head on his chest to rest on such a sunny and tiring day,, you could feel his hand stroking your hair and tucking the few strands that were falling on your eyes behind your ear with one of his hands as the other one was rubbing your shoulder and holding you close providing you a feeling of security and warmth but not really the one that came from his hand or the temperature around you,, it was like his actions gave your heart and mind some time to relax with his presence,,
you were sure he knew the impact he had on you and he most definitely was aware of the same impact you had on him,,, you still felt sleepy and with him keeping you safe and relaxed from any worries that could creep in your mind, Ayato started humming a lullaby for you to fall asleep easier to which you smiled full of joy from what he's been doing to lift up your mood,, you could feel your eyelids being heavy and slowly letting your head's weight on him as you drifted asleep on a summer evening expecting him to follow you and accompany you even in your dreams making you feel safe as he has always been.
