The wolf howled into the lonely night.
He had not seen, nor did he know what had become of his owner, the Dark, and his lord, the Anti. But he could feel the lonesome king's pain like a stab to the heart. Was it physical? Was the fire eating him alive still? Was it emotional? Did the king's sorrow and vengeance wreak on even after he parted from this world, in death?
The wolf could not know, only know to howl his pain and grief out into the world.
Surely, if Dark died, so too would he? He is the embodiment of one of Dark's greatest emotions, and without his host, how could he continue to exist? No... For that is not how it works. Once given form, the shadow may feel dulled versions of their owner's pain, but they are still their own being. If anything, the wolf would grow stronger if Dark passed, would he not?
The wolf would not know.
Not until somebody made the answers known to him. He sought said answers in the starry night sky, in which he sang his song to... But as per usual, there was no answer back. The sky could not answer a mere wolf with howls, only a pack can do that. And this wolf did not have a pack, not anymore.
He sighed and made his way back to the gardener's shed to check on the egos. The 'Traitors' specifically, since they had taken an actual beating by the angel's forces. But everybody was fine, just a bit shaken up. Especially poor Henrik... Rev had to empathize with the man, knowing just a bit of how Dark felt after a certain child was killed... Rev believed that nobody deserved to feel that kind of pain.
"How are you dealing?" Rev gave a growl, his telepathy translating it. "...I've... I've been... Better." Henrik took another sip of coffee. He really didn't want to go to sleep, even if he somehow could. "Hmm... That is reasonable, friend... I- Please wait just a moment, I am being summoned. That would be the apprentices..."
With a nod to Henrik and a friendly lick on the hand, Rev vanished elsewhere, appearing in front of the two girls.
And he jolted at what he saw, "I-IS THAT-?!" He gaped in shock. He was happy that the three were alive, but... Dark looked awful, and even compared to him... Con and Anti honestly looked like they had been swallowed by the flames of hell and spat back out.
How they were still alive, Rev had no clue. But he didn't want to just wait around and see how long that would last. He quickly reformed, becoming big enough to hold three whole people on his back. One of his neatest tricks was becoming whatever size he wanted. Now, he only put two people on his back- plus his cat-friend- but the extra room ensured that they wouldn't fall.
The apprentices opened a portal back to the gardener's shed, Rev carefully walking through and stopping at the door. He had two problems, A: it was closed, B: he couldn't fit in this form anyways. So, he stalked over to a nearby bench and nestled them there. He put Anti on Dark and shrank himself back down to his normal size before grabbing Con in his jaws and heading towards the now opened gardener shed. The apprentices had gone in and told them all that they had gotten the dark egos out safely, shocking them completely. The egos rushed outside, Henrik at the front. And they saw them, the dark egos, safe and alive and- and...
Anti might've been better off dead.
The glitch was so burnt that his wounds had stopped bleeding significantly. Not fully, of course, and they were still quite awful, but that in itself was a bad thing. Anti wasn't even recognizable at this point... He was so disfigured and frail that he could probably break at the slightest touch of a finger. Dark egos may heal exceptionally fast, yes, but THIS... This would take at least a few weeks to fully heal and will actually leave Anti with permanent scars.
"Nein... Nein, nein, nein! What has he done?! What has he done to you, mein sohn...?" Henrik rushed forward, shaking violently as he started to pick Anti up. He quickly decided better of it as Dark's red aura zapped him and coiled around Dark's blue aura- which was on Anti currently- like a protective snake. The doctor felt a bit better knowing that Dark had Damien's magic healing the glitch and even a defense mechanism for him, but it wasn't fair to him that he couldn't hold his son at such a moment.
"Henrik, relax! They're alive! Just be happy for that!" Edward patted his friend's shoulder really quick before going over to help Rev with Con. Yan rushed up next, "I-I'll help carry them inside!" He offered, quickly moving to make up for his past mistakes.
And with that, the eventful night was officially over.
"Uh oh."
"Uh oh? Why 'uh oh'?"
"Isn't this where you said it got worse?"
"Heh. Shouldn't I be the one getting distressed...? Some therapist you are."
"Shut it... Should you be distressed? Would you say this next part was stressful for you in particular? Even more so than the other parts?"
"...Just watch."
