"𝖍𝖔𝖑𝖉 𝖔𝖓- 𝖉𝖔 𝖞𝖔𝖚 𝖍𝖊𝖆𝖗 𝖙𝖍𝖆𝖙?" Nam-ra grabs all our attention. "what? Is someone out there?" Nam-ra looks up at the sky and tells us to listen. "I don't see anything, wait- I hear a helicopter." We all stand up. The sound is getting nearer. The boys grab the fire stick and wave in the sky. Su-hyeok holds my hand and with the other hand, he waves at the helicopter. The wind was too strong that we had to back off a little.

The officers come down with the zip rope and pointed their guns at us. Few more come down. "Get down." one of them demands. "All of you." Soon we lie on the floor, with our stomachs facing the ground. Then they check our temperature. "clear" I glance at Nam-ra, but luckily no one suspected anything bad. "We'll rescue you, once we have completed the mission." one of them says. "you can stand up now." Su-hyeok helps me to get on my feet.

Ji-min asks the officers if they will save us or not. "yes, we will. Just wait here." The officers go down inside the building. Soon the officers come back. So does the helicopter. Then one of the officers, give us the instruction. Ji-min goes first. She then is being lifted. Then Hyo-Ryung goes.

"cancel the operation." Ji-min comes down. She cries that we are fine, The officer then threatens to shoot us. Mine and Sy-hyeok's hands tighten with each other. But instead, he shoots in the sky. Cheong-san begs the officer to save them. But the officer backs away. "I'm sorry." He hooks the rope to the handle on his uniform and motions him to pull up. And in a second he is in the helicopter. Tears slowly form in my eyes and they leave us.

My eyes don't leave the helicopter until it leaves my sight. "They abandoned us. Now there's no one to save us." Cheong-san kicks the fire, and unnie stops him. "it's pointless. No one's coming." He screams in anger.

Thunders, Nam-ra falls in pain. I kneel beside her. Worry was written all over my face. "hey hey, what happen?" I ask. "My ears hurt so bad." I go through my pockets and find my handkerchief. I give it to Su-hyeok and tell him, "Can you please tear this into strips and roll them into plugs?" He nods his head and begins to do it. Soon he hands me the plugs. "Nam-ra, use this to cover your ears," I say while showing the cloth plugs.

She takes it from me and inserts it into her ears. "is it fine now?" I ask once she has done it. She looks at me and nods her head. Then it starts raining. "it's raining!" I go and stand near unnie, I hear her sobbing, also from everyone.

Even my tears get mixed with the rain. But the pain in my stomach due to all the punching from Gwi-nam fades away. Right now my body is getting healed. I can feel my body getting healed. Except for the wound on my shoulder. It stings more. And I can feel that the dried blood is also washing away.

We all sit under a roof made by 2 of the boys so that we won't get wet. Cheong-san has told us the plan that we will be moving when the thunder strikes. And with this, we can go to the mountains. "If we can manage to reach the mountain, we can make it to Yangdong." Unnie adds. "still, isn't this suicide?" Wu-jin bites his nails. Hyo-Ryung said that she won't come cuz she is scared. "It's not like anyone is gonna save us if we stay here. We are the only ones who can save ourselves." Cheong-san says. Then he stands in the centre, "let's go. If anything goes wrong, I'll scream and lead the zombies away."

"Don't say that. We're all gonna make it." Su-hyeok encourages. "If anyone is gonna die tonight, it will be me." "No one will die, we all will make it." Cheong-san's eyes fall on me. "Because of the rain, all the scents mixed up. The rain is really loud too. I'm sure the zombies' senses are dulled." Nam-ra says. "if that's what a half-bie says, it should be reliable."

"What's a half-bie?" I ask him. "a half-bie... is someone you can rely on. Are you guys ready? Nam-ra is strong so we need to be strong. Let's take her word and go." Dae-su explains. "I'm not strong right now." She admits. "why not?" "I don't know." she looks at her fingers. I kneel next to her, "It's alright Nam-ra, you can make it." I pat her shoulder.

"I think some of us might not be able to keep pace." "We'll pair up and hold hands. For protection." "Okay!" I see Su-hyeok stretch his hand in front of me. I and Su-hyeok, unnie and Cheong-san, Ji-min and Hyo-Ryung, Wu-jin and Nam-ra, Dae-su and Joon-Yeong. We all pair up.

Cheong-san opens the door slowly and steps to the other side without making any noise. He motions everyone to step outside. We all slowly get down the stairs. Su-hyeok leading me. We reach the first floor. But Cheong-san stops us. We see the zombies snarling. Then a clap of thunder strikes, making the zombies follow the sound. Once those are gone, we quietly rush to the other side.

We finally exit the building without encountering any zombies. Once we are out, we hide behind the plants. "get down, shh quiet" "stay low." Cheong-san tells us the plan that we will be going to the other side along the wall. We all cross the plants and along the wall, we reach a truck and hide near it. Dae-su goes under the truck to go to the other side.
