Hailey and Jay weren't exactly sure when they got home; they knew they didn't get much sleep due to being so worried about how Isla would handle this when she woke up.
After maybe 3 hours of sleep, Hailey and Jay get out of bed and head to the kitchen to start their morning.
"What are we going to do, Jay? She's heartbroken, and we can't make her go to school..." Hailey started saying to her husband.
"Well, she's going to be asleep for a bit longer, so there's no point in making her go to school today." Jay interrupted his wife, starting to make a pot of coffee.
"I'll text the work group chat and tell them what's happening. Can you call school?" Hailey asked her husband while grabbing two mugs from the cupboard. "I'll also text Kaylie, let her know what's going on, and ask her to pick up Isla's schoolwork."
"Sure," Jay said, starting the coffee pot.
Hailey walked over to the counter where they had plugged their phones hours earlier, handed Jay his phone, and texted their work group chat and Kailey.

While Hailey was texting Kailey, Jay called the school, informing them that Kailey would pick up Isla's schoolwork for the next few days. The school offered condolences and ensured Isla would get all her schoolwork for the rest of the week.
"Anna mentioned having Dagger removed from his stall today and taken to a crematorium. Free of charge." Jay sadly mentioned, picking up the coffee carafe and pouring them each a cup before making his way over to his wife and handing her her cup.
"Should we get her something to incorporate some of Dagger's ashes?" Hailey asked, bringing the cup of coffee to her lips.
"I think she'd like that. Maybe a necklace so she can wear it when she goes out to the barn?" Jay suggested, shrugging his shoulders, silently wishing he didn't have to think about this.
