It's been a while!
This one's short and sweet, found a cool theme but it's a bit too fast paced to do a longer scene with so I did my best. Had to look up a lot of cowboy expressions and don't regret it at all lol. If you need a translator, all the funky phrases came from this website:

The close battle with the Tuba Wizard left either party in an weary state. All that had been accomplished was the injury of both sides, and it didn't help that in your mind you knew he was still out there, plotting his next great tragedy.

Either way, that was in the past now. Your commander had stationed you at a rural outpost where you could recover from your wounds, but all you could think about was the seething beam of heat that seemed as if it focussed on you and you alone. Here you sit on a shoddy stool at the gate of reclaimed-scrapwood fortress.

K'duh, K'duh, K'duh.

You raised your gaze from the dusty dirt beneath you, to bring your focus upon an approaching set of footsteps. Appearing from the oscillations of heat was a figure - a bright light reflecting from it's brass helmet as it walked into view.

"Fair to middlin' 'bout this fine evenin'" A hoarse voice came from under the brass-capped hat, a whisker of straw hanging haphazardly from the man's mouth.

"Gotta say, they really done'n'did'ya dirty.  - Put a wounded man at an outpost by himself, out in th' middl'a nowhere? Balderdash."
"Not that it makes much'a difference to myself." He stamped a foot down, taking a wide stance.

You'd heard rumours of a lone bounty hunter in these regions, with a gun that booms with the deepest black-powder bass. He was both respected and feared. The right man for the job.

"Oof, might be nailed to the counter fer that one," he chuckled, "Truth be told'ja I ain't of the first water, and as they say, a Tuba's gotta make his jack to hit the sack."

"Anyways, Enough'a bein' a hifer. Let's get this over'n'done with," he moved a hand to his branded revolver, pulling back the lever while it was still in his holster.

"ain't no bag of nails." -

Standing from your trusty stool, cautiously analysing every movement of your assailant, you held a steady hand on your blade, your wounds still bandaged and bloody.

"-Let's go."
