Nadia the banished wolf princess Book 1

Chapter twelve:Nadia's nightmare

Nadia shot up late one night from a nightmare. She dreamt that everyone left her and threw her through a ring portal. 
She quietly shot up and looked around. She was still in the house and everybody was still asleep,at least that's what she thought. 
Knuckles woke up hearing Nadia gasp and walk out of the attic. 
He snuck behind her and followed her downstairs. 
Nadia opened the front door and shut it behind her. She felt like she needed some fresh air so she sat outside on the porch. 
"What are you doing out here Wolf?"Knuckles asked 
"I uh I was just...enjoying the night sky."She fibbed 
"Don't lie to me Wolf,there is no need for deceit."
"I'm fine,it was just a bad dream;nothing is wrong."Nadia replied 
Knuckles sighed and sat beside Nadia. 
"Do you want to talk about it?"Knuckles asked 
"Nah I just wanna sit here for a bit."
"I will be right here if you need me."Knuckles said
He noticed that Nadia was shaking pretty badly and she stared at the ground with intense focus. 
"We should head back inside before the others notice our absence."Knuckles informed 
"I don't wanna go back to bed.I don't want to have that dream again."Nadia's voice cracked as she spoke. 
Knuckles placed his hand on Nadia's head as she buried her face in her legs. 
Nadia flinched as she felt Knuckles touch her as he was trying to comfort her. 
She wasn't sure if he was going to hit her or find some other way to hurt her. She knew Knuckles wasn't going to hurt her but she wasn't used to comfort. 
They sat there for a few minutes and then they both agreed to go back inside. 
Nadia didn't go back to the bedroom. She just walked over to the couch and laid down. Knuckles put a blanket on Nadia and sat in front of the couch. 
The rest of the family woke up that morning to see Knuckles and Nadia asleep on the couch.
