Karthik's pov
"Dad it will be better if you just stay away from anna and bhabhi..don't take me wrong...but it's for better." I cross my hands over my chest as I told him. "I know—how you and bhabhi met 5 years ago...and so does Anna."
"He knows?"
"Yes—she told him last night." I said thinking about it for a long time.
"How did they meet?"
"At the hospital—she got stuck in some fire incident and they brought her up to hospital—her dr. later got Covid and then Anna had to take over her case—I think he fell in love with her the moment he saw her..." I remembered how I met bhabhi..she had a ladle in her hand as she opened the door.
"And why wouldn't he—I mean have you seen her?!"
"Agastya!" Dad and I said his name in stern voice."Don't forget that she's my daughter in law!" Dad added.
'If he had said that in front of anna he would've been dead by now!' I rolled my eyes at his comment.
"Uncle I didn't mean it like that—I meant— she's an amazing and a sweet person—
"Yeah—we know that. Now a word of advice don't say anything stupid about her ever again..or Anna will not spare you!" I tell him before I leave the room.
Vaidehi's pov
I watched him as he sleep peacefully by my side—his hair messily spread over the pillow while he propped his hand under the pillow facing toward me while his other hand held onto my shirt as he slept.
I caressed his face softly while I tucked a few hair strands behind his earlobe as they were falling over his eyes before I planted a small kiss on his head.
I quietly tip-toed my way outside of the room and then straight to the garden to for some fresh air.
Emmanuel's pov
'No..Not again I can't lose you too...please don't go!' I opened my eyes as soon as Vaidehi disappeared in front of my eyes.
"Vaidehi!"
I threw the duvet and felt sweat droplets on my forehead.
"Bhaiya everything alright?" Charu asked coming from other room.
"Where's Vaidehi?"
"Oh I saw her going toward garden-
I walked immediately to the garden and saw her sitting on a chair. "Vaidehi!"
"Dr. Is everything alright?!" I hugged her with a quick motion and she stayed still.
"Did you had a nightmare?" She asked—this time more calmly then before.
But still I wasn't able to respond much since I was reliving it since I had an encounter with Mr. Agarwal.
Vaidehi's pov
He didn't respond to my words, which made worried about him even more.
I rubbed his back soothingly and slowly he pulled away from the hug but kept holding my hands in his hand.
"I don't wanna lose you!"
"I am not going anywhere...I am staying here—right by your side Emmanuel!" I tightened my grip on his hand and held my tears at bay as the mere thought of being away from him was scary enough to threw me off guard.

Next morning."Karthik, your Anna and I have decided that we're going back to Dehradun on Tuesday—if that okay with you?" He looked a little hesitant but he nodded a 'yes.'
I think it's better that we don't stay here....since it's making him remember all the bad memories more than good ones!
Even though I feel bad for Mr. Agrawal.
"Bhabhi...let's go downstairs..." Charu held my hand guiding me.
"O-okay."
"Who are these, Charu?" I asked.
"They are Mehtas— our family friends and also Karthik's bhaiyya's future-in-laws." She replied. "That's Ritu di—or should I say Ritu bhabhi!" I glanced at the girl sitting beside Mr Agarwal as they sat in a circle—4 of them.Mr. Agarwal, Ritu and her parents.
"Does Karthik knows about this?"
"Yes...no—I am not really sure but Ritu di and him are best friends since childhood." Charu answered reluctantly.
"Uncle namaste !" A girl slightly older then me entered the room with a cheery smile.
"Who's that?!" I found myself asking without even realizing.
"Umm she—she is Niharika di and also she's—
"Ritu's older sister!" Pallavi di interrupted and we both looked at her.
"Charu go and study in room—your exams are approaching soon!" She told her in a stern voice.
'Something is off.'
"I heard that you guys are leaving tomorrow!"
"Y-yes—dr—I mean Emmanuel is going through so many things right—
"I understand—please take care of him." Pallavi di cupped my hands in hers.
"Of course di." I spoke in assuring tone.To be continued..
