YOUR POV

You felt heavy, yet weightless. Everything felt cold as your body seemed to bob up and down. Soft wisps tickled your cheeks as you leaned in closer to the warmth.

"Wake... Don't... (F/n)..."

Everything felt numb. Your head was fuzzy and you could barely hear what was being said to you. You were too tired, your eyes shut.

"Help... She... Doctor..." You could hear the same voice, incomprehensible in your dazed state as well as the soft sobs in between their words.

"...calm- ...worry- ...help," another voice spoke, deeper yet awfully familiar. You tried to stir and strain to hear more but you couldn't focus as the heaviness overcame you once again.

Your eyes snapped open as white tile met your gaze. Your senses were slowly coming back to you as your mind woke from your deep sleep. The air was cold despite the warm sheets covering you. The window was open as the moon barely lit the room. It was silent and dim, save for soft breathing and scuttling outside. Your hand felt warm.

Turning your head, you looked to see why and found another hand holding onto it. Your eyes followed up the arm only to be met with a mess of soft curls. Your lips twitched up into a smile, squeezing softly onto the hand. A raspy giggle escaped your lips as you painstakingly turn to face your friend. Why did everything hurt more than usual?

A tear-filled gaze looked up at you, surprise and relief mixing on Lucy's face. "(F-f/n)...? Oh you foolish girl, you frightened me you- you..." she could barely continue her sentence as fresh tears rolled down her face.

You tried to get up and comfort her only for her to stand and position you on your back again.

"Don't get up, the doctor said you'll need a lot of rest considering your shock and health. I'll also have time to scold you some more," she mumbled the last part, a small, relieved smile slowly creeping on her face.

Your lips parted to complain but only a croak came out as your throat burned. Your hand moved to quickly clutch your neck in surprise. What happened to you? On that note, where even were you!?

Your eyes darted across the room, as you felt your breathing quicken. Lucy seemed to notice this as she tried to take your hand in comfort. Your grip was tight as you shook your head violently, as if you were denying this reality. No, no, no, not here, not this place.

Adrenaline seemed to kick in as you sat up quickly, ready to run. Lucy caught you quickly and held onto you. Soft sobs managed to escape your damaged throat, you were desperate, practically begging to leave this place. It was even harder to breathe as you leaned your head on your friend's shoulder, hot tears staining her skin.

Lucy knew you hated the hospital but there was no other way to get help. She held onto you tightly, petting your hair as she tried to ground you. "Breathe, (F/n). You're alright, I'm here. I'm here..." She felt guilty, having you go through this stress on top of your near death. "It'll only be for a few days-" at that you began to resist again, but she was definitely the stronger one. "J-just until your throat is healed. Please."

Her grip was firm but gentle, and she held onto you until you finally calmed down. Warily, she slowly let go, resting her hands on yours once again for comfort. "You'll be fine. I'll be here until you're better, alright?"

You nodded quietly, too dehydrated to let out anymore tears and too tired to fight despite your mind yelling at you to jump out the window. You felt heavy once again and slowly lied back down, holding tightly onto the comforting hand. You looked up at Lucy, drowsiness taking over once again. She smiled reassuringly, softly squeezing your hand. You blinked a few more times before passing out, missing the room fill with light. Did someone open the door? Your eyes shut tight to compensate for the brightness. You couldn't be bothered to see who it was.
