Things had gotten lighter once you reconciled with Lucy. Conversations were easy and the teasing and mingling was like it used to be. It was also beneficial that your voice had returned.
A knock on the door broke your merrymaking as you scowled the moment you saw the tall man enter your room. Oh Henry Jekyll, the joy you bring whenever your presence is made known. You looked away, staring out what little you could see between the wooden bars of the window. Another thing you could thank Jekyll for.
"Good afternoon, Henry," Lucy said, her sweet voice almost longing. Another thing that upset you, her infatuation for him.
"Good day, Miss Lucy," and his reciprocation suggested he did not object. You bit your tongue to hold back a remark. Lucy liked this man, god knows why, but you weren't going to put yourself on her bad side right after reconciling. "Good day to you too, Miss (L/n)," he greeted you curtly. And so began the polite spiel.
You bared your teeth in a sarcastic "smile" and nodded. No, you still couldn't be civil. It was like you were just naturally meant to be a rude annoyance to him. Regardless, he paid you no mind as he began to check on your vitals once again. Didn't he already do this earlier?
From your pulse to your heartbeat, he went down the list of checks until he reached your hand. He lifted it before you pulled it back again, practically shoving his away. "We've already gone through all this, doctor. I thought we were over with the checks and tests?"

Jekyll's POV
The hostility never seemed to end despite all my efforts to build rapport with Miss (L/n). It seemed like she had no intention but to cause a ruckus and make my work harder. As she pulled her hand away, I felt the back of mine sting as it was quickly slapped. I hold back from visibly sighing, this better not become a pattern with her.
"We've already gone through all this, doctor. I thought we were over with the checks and tests?" she said, a curious, innocent look on her face with a tone that dripped with impatience and frustration. If anyone had the right to be upset, it should have been me.
It's been a few months since Hyde had come out, a little too many casualties have been a result of it. Had I not promised Lucy to treat her friend, I firmly believe I could have solved this issue already. He has been appearing far too often for my liking, even more so beyond my control. I do not yet know why this has come to be but I cannot discredit the theory that it may be due to (L/n)'s incessant vexing that I have been losing control of my own emotions.
Nevertheless, I will only be able to test these theories at a later time once I am free of this favor. I look through my notes once again before answering her question.
"Yes, of course. I apologize for dawdling," I glance back at her, her eyes rolling once again. Quickly taking note of this, (F.L.) becomes upset or angered whenever I am courteous. Though I am unsure what else I can do to appease that.
Clearing my throat, I continue, "Results have concluded that your former injuries have fully recovered, as you may have noticed, considering you don't struggle to say your piece," I paused, chastising myself internally, the snark was unbecoming. "From what I've observed earlier, the cut on your shoulder is also on its way to fully healing-"
"But-?" she said quickly, as if to cut me off but still desperate to listen. She did not continue, only trailed off as if to encourage me to finish her sentence.
