(Y/N) - Your Name
Oh what the hell, here's the divine bull. Course work is relatively light, as expected since the semester is just starting up and assignment due dates have been pushed back because of tech issues, yay! Universities switching educational platforms, professors not being accustomed to said platform, other students not buying access codes for textbooks/websites to submit assignments, just a whole mess of everything. Might as well take advantage of the chaos and extensions to post another part or two and get more writing experience. I read somewhere that Wattpad selected some creators to essentially beta test branching storylines. Really hope that it pans out and it will be available to all creators soon, as it would've been PERFECT for combining this and Nomad's stories together. In lieu of that, I'll just repeat the beginning of Nomad's story and go into Asterius' path at what would be the branch off point. If you just read the last story, feel free to skip to the next bit of bold text to get to the new stuff. Enjoy!
After the whole debacle of overthrowing Bael's scheme, you and all of your friends that have been forced to act as their Canaanite selves finally have a chance to rest. All of you can explore the underwater paradise at your discretion before returning to your respective worlds. Wandering around with Astarte during the early afternoon, you idly chatter away.
"So, wanna switch places again before you go???" Astarte grins.
"Not a chance in hell." You firmly declined.
"Oh come on (Y/N)! Being me wasn't all THAT bad, right? I definitely could tell you enjoyed some parts of the role reversal!"
"That was before my powers were siphoned away!" You shuddered at the thought of being defenseless, being completely dependent on the Kings of Canaan and their underlings for protection and any extraneous activities.
"Oh, right. Forgot about that part. Sorry..." Astarte looks away from you, ashamed to have forgotten the thing she had to endure that was unintentionally forced upon you.
"It's fine. It's not like you were completely wrong..."
You briefly recall your time being the Most Beloved of Canaan. The embarrassment of outing yourself and 'becoming' partners-in-crime with the Plague Flame-Lord Resheph, comforting the tyrannical Clay-Lord Moloch, and being awestruck by the amount of treasures that the Sea-Lord Yam had stockpiled from others. Each had their faults, but you had enjoyed spending time with all of them. You were in a daze, thinking about each of the physical interactions with all of them when Astarte nudges you out of it.
"Hey, Earth to (Y/N)!" She waves her delicate hands in front of your face.
"Eh?! K-Knock it off!" You brushed her aside, walking faster to not let her see how right she actually was.
"Hey! Do that again and I'll rip your arms off!" Astarte scowls and runs to catch up to you.
The two of you end up at the center of town, watching the Canaanites interactions with those of Tokyo. Most of them seem to be asking the other of their experiences in their respective lands, while others competed to see who was better at certain tasks. Astarte, as usual, had a crowd of suitors surrounding her and bestowing an excessive amount of Seashells of Promises. Outside of the crowd, you recognized two of your friends: Asterius in his swimwear secluding himself in an alley and Nomad, who somehow has his usual leather motorist outfit on, seems to be casually strolling about in the town square. You ponder for a moment, deciding on whether to check up on the colossal bovine or investigate the tiger's uncharacteristic behavior. You walked up to the Therian that caught more of your attention.
