THE STORY OF RUBY LANE
╭┈──── ◌ೄ◌ྀ ˊˎ "YOU ACTUALLY WANT ME TO come with you to Nurse Lane’s cabin?” Ashley asked, still not really understanding why Ziggy wanted her with her. Just an hour ago they hadn’t even known who the other was, the camp was a big place and with nearly three hundred kids, it wasn’t unknown to not know who everybody was. But now, Ashley and Ziggy were walking around like they had been friends for years. “I mean, this isn’t an assumption, this is just a fact, but you’re not known for having friends.”
“May I remind you, you aren’t either,” Ziggy retorted, sounding already exhausted with Ashley’s company, but she guessed she could deal with it. Ashley wasn’t all bad, she guessed, for a Goode anyway. “Besides, I’m unpredictable. Maybe I think you’re actually… cool.”
Ashley thought for a moment before smiling smugly. “You think I’m cool.”
“No… No, no, wait. Maybe I think you’re cool,” Ziggy stopped the girl from inflating her ego anymore. Ashley was not like the rest of her family in most areas, but it seemed like they all had extra big egos. “Don’t get ahead of yourself. We’ll see if I think you’re cool in a couple hours.”
