Todoroki stood in front of the mirror, tears streaming down his face. His scar, his red hair, his blue eye, it was all his father. He could dye his hair, wear contacts, but nothing would cover the scar.

He's tried before, he put concealer on it but it didn't work. He couldn't hide the discoloration, and the texture could never be hidden. He cried for hours.

The more he stared into his reflection, the more he hated himself. He couldn't see himself, he was drowning in his fathers features. As sobs escaped his chest his slid down to the floor, tears soaking his shirt.

I hate him. I hate myself.

Izuku has told him time and time again that he is his own person, and someone else's features isn't going to change that, but he never truly believed it. Why? because even if no one else saw his father in him, he would.

Todoroki let the tears fall as silently as possible, while he thought of everything.

How holidays will never be a happy time, how hell never be able to go to a park as an innocent child, or even a simple game of catch in the backyard on a sunny summer day without it being intense and abusive.

"was it that hard dad? was it worth it, too?"
