It was a little weird having the same outfit as a girl, but I guess I just had to deal with it. We got to the drive in and bought our tickets. We were going to see "The Sound of Music." Ponyboy was babbling about that movie for the past three days. He was going to be mad that I didn't take him. But I didn't care.
Brooke
The whole time we payed no attention to the movie. Soda and I were talking about cars and movies. He had this shine in his eyes that I couldn't stop staring at. He was just, perfect.
Sodapop
Maybe I would see the movie another time with Pony sometime. I didn't even know the main character's name. I was too distracted with Brooke's beautiful voice. She was just, perfect.
Brooke
Sodapop helped me down from the top of the car."I had a really good time Soda," I said trying not to blush.
Sodapop
"Me too," I tried to say without stutteringWe were caught in a moment of silence as we drew closer and closer.
Brooke
Was he? Was I? We were. Our lips slowly touched and my brain was blank.
Sodapop
It felt like it was only us. It went by so quick I couldn't even think.
Brooke
I would name this night, the best one!
