Kurapika goes to look at you but gets met with a gust of wind, the grass where you used to be dead as his eyes widen

You quickly arrive there as you see the scene, hisokas hand around gons throat as he has a disgusting smirk, your blood boiling at the sight as you remember

"Aim for the head" Neteros words ring in your head as you kick hisoka in the face, the man quickly looking at you as your eyes meet him

Gon gasp for air as you grab him, falling to the ground as you land on your feet, still looking at hisoka as he starts to chuckle

Your eyes dead as you look at him, your hair messed up as it falls in front of your face.

"I love that look even more~ a look that can kill~"

Your eyes only harden as you hold gon, the boy coughing as hisoka crouches to your level again

"Don't worry I didn't kill your friend. He's going to be just fine, and that's because he passed~"

He speaks this to Gon as you only stare at him, keeping Gon away from him as he looks at him confused

"And hes, you pass as well~ especially you~" hisoka says as his eyes go back to you, blinking as you raise an eyebrow, your eyes going back to normal as the man smiles eyes closed

"Now go and become a good hunter." He says as your arms drop on Gon, the boy still looking at hisoka confused as his phone beeps

"It's good to have friends, isn't it?" He says lastly before walking away, grabbing Leorio over his shoulder as you and Gon still look at him

"Can you find your own way back?"

You and Gon quickly nod slightly as hisoka chuckles, giving you two a lustful stare

"Good boy, good girl"

He walks away with this as the fog comes back, Gon panting heavily as you look at the boy in your arms

"Are you alright?" You ask as sweat goes down his face, still looking at where hisokas was before he speaks up

"You saved me."

Before you can say anything kurapikas voice Carrie's out

"Y/n! Gon! Are you alright!" He says as you both see him run towards you, kurapiks arms going over you both as you all stay silent

"I know where to go follow me."

Satotz looks at his watch carefully before looking back to the forest, trying to keep his eyes out for movement before he hums

"I might need to put the tracker on..." he says simply as he waits for your arrival, a certain participant hearing this as the small kid looks into the forest

"This way Gon" you say as the boy sniffs the air, nodding to you as kurapika follows down the path

"You can really tell by the smell?" Kurapika asks as Gon nods

"Yeah, Leorio always wearing this very unique kind of cologne. I can smell him from a few kilometers away no problem."

"I see... how about you y/n.. how can you tell?" Kurapika asks as you stay quiet

The boys looking at you before Gon hums, knowing you won't say anything

"What do you think hisoka was talking about when he said that we both passed?" 

You think about a answer for them before kurapika speaks up

"I'm not sure but I think he might have been playing judge."

"Judge?"

"He was, he has his own benchmarks for every applicant, to see how much power they have to become a worthy hunter." You answer looking in front of you as kurapika and Gon listen

"We met his standards so we avoided a fight" you finally say as Gon looks worried at you

"But I was powerless to do anything stop him, if it wasn't for you y/n then I would have been gone."

"You landed a hit on him Gon that's something, those other men didn't even get close to that" you say comforting the boy as he looks up to the sky

"That's only because I surprised him, and besides. Leorio didn't win his fight, but hisoka passed him anyways" He question as you think about it, he really is a strange man to say the least

"I wonder... he coudve sensed that you two where some kind of kindred spirits." Kurapika says as you put your hand up to your chest, thinking about it for a second before nodding

"He looked at our souls, trying to justify if where hunter material" you finish kurapikas sentence as the boy looks at you

"It's possible that hisoka can qualify as a hunter, but I sincerely doubt it. But I must admit I'm impressed, by his superhuman agility and the gracefulness of his technique"

'Nen' you think as your eyes sharpen, thinking about his card throwing tricks and mind games.... He must have learned nen

"People who are blessed with unique talents are often drawn to others with unique gifts of their own. It's likely that based on his intuition and experience hisoka can tell you both had the same skill and potential to become hunters."

"From his perspective killing the two of you would of been a waste of potential" you say before looking at Gon, the kid completely quite now as your eyes widen

"I mean it's not a bad thing, we just met his expectations," you finish as kurapiks puts his hand on your mouth, trying to apologize to Gon as the kid hums

"But I've got to say, it was actually pretty exciting back there, I mean. The way you saved me was amazing back there y/n."

Your eyes widen at his sentence before you give him a small smile "you where so scared that you wanted to run away but couldn't, because you where excited at the same time."

Kurapika looks at you both worried as Gon smiles happily

"Hey yeah! How'd you know?" Gon asks before you rub his spiky hair, a finger up to you mouth as you hum

"It was written all over your eyes."
