author's note: the beginning of this story refers to harry with she/her pronouns, simply because harry is assigned female at birth, and doesn't know what transgender means or that it is possible to change one's pronouns and gender identity.
another note: if anyone is confused why i'm uploading two fanfics with the exact same name, here's why lol! it's been over 4 years since i started this work, and i decided to edit it and flesh out the plot/characters a bit more on ao3. i don't have the heart to delete the original version, so here's the 2.0 version.
if you're new here, feel free to read either version! the original has 71 chapters and is incompleted. this version will have slower updates, but hopefully the quality will be better. there will be some major divergences with the original, so if you'd like to stick to this one, that's cool too.
