I can't Skate

On a snowy winter night in January, our couple laid on the couch, binging their favorite show together. Despite claiming to her friends that she was a big spoon, Alix was snuggled into Chloe's side, under her arm with the blanket laid on both their laps.

"Hey Allykins"? A hum came from the other girl. "We should do something this weekend, like go on a date," Chloe said, smiling at her sleepy girlfriend.

"Where should we go"? Alix asked before yawning and cuddling closer to the blonde.

"How about ice skating? I've never tried it before" Chloe suggested.

"Sounds good Chlo" Alix mumbled and closed her eyes to fall asleep.

The next morning, the two girls got bundled up in their winter jackets and were on their way to the ice rink.

"Here are your ice skates as requested Miss Chloe" The driver said, passing back two boxes.

"You didn't have to buy me skates, you know," Alix said. "I could've just rented some".

"Those disgusting things? Never" Chloe blanched. Alix snickered as she opened her box and a nice pair of black and green skates laid inside. "These are incredibly nice for things we'll use once" Alix closed the box.

"You never know, we may go skating again" Chloe smiled. "Yeah definitely " the pink haired girl smiled back.

"Well these aren't much different laces from rollerblades," Alix said as she tied her skates. She glanced over after finishing the other skate and saw Chloe struggling. "Give me your foot," Alix sighed.

"I didn't know you had a foot fetish Alix" Chloe smiled.

"Haha funny" Alix reached down and yanked Chloe's leg up, throwing her off balance. "You're terrible" Chloe said from lying on her back on the bench.

"Why thank you" Alix snarked while tying her girlfriend's skates.

"I could've done it" the blonde pouted when she sat up.

"Yeah in a couple hours maybe" Alix laughed.

"Shut up" Chloe blushed. "Thank you" she whispered after.

"What was that"? The skater girl leaned over, cupping her ears.

"I said thank you, you brat"! Chloe exclaimed and stood up to walk to the ice.

"Do you even know how to skate"? Alix asked, following behind her.

"I'm sure I'll figure it out," Chloe said, watching the other people skate. Alix watched Chloe take a tentative step onto the ice before pushing herself forward. She moved a couple times, getting used to stopping and going.

"Look, I'm doing it"! She squealed excitedly. Alix smiled brightly at her excitement. "Looking good darling"! She yelled.

"Join me"! Chloe said.

"Yeah in a minute," Alix said.

"Hey what's wrong"? Chloe skated up to her. "Nothing, I was just watching you".

"Well now you can come with me".

Chloe grabbed Alix's hands and pulled her onto the ice. "Chloe"! Alix shrieked, her legs wobbling. Chloe was fascinated by the way Alix clung to her arms for dear life.

She grinned. "You can't skate"?

"Well obviously, I can't skate" Alix said, turning her head embarrassed.

Though that threw her off balance and she slipped backwards. Chloe yanked her back up and continued their path around the rink. "But you're a skater"?

"It's different! Rollerblades are wider, easier to balance on" Alix said quickly.

"It's okay Allykins, you don't have to be embarrassed" Chloe told her. "Come on, let's skate together".

The couple went around the rink, Chloe guiding the wobbly Alix around. "We should do this again," Chloe said.

"No" Alix glared.

But they did because Alix can't say no to Chloe's puppy dog eyes.
