"I can't believe this shit" Damien moaned as he was texting someone on his phone
"Are you going to bitch and moan the entire ride?" I asked as we drove closer to Joel's job
"Yeah I think I am" Damien said still looking at his phone
"And I'm going to do it right now. Why did you make me sit in the back of my own damn car?" Damien asked looking up at his phone to look at me
"Because obviously my boyfriend is gonna sit next to me; besides I spent so much money on this car is practically mine" I told him as we pulled into the bookstore parking lot
"Whatever; Where's Prince charming so we can get this night over with?" Damien asked looking out the window
"15 minutes I came early because I didn't want him waiting too long" I answered
"Ugh" Damien said and went back on his phone
"Who are you texting? It better not be Peck" I warned him
We lied to Peck saying I was helping my mom move some things around at her house and that we would stay the night; Peck knows my mom doesn't like him so he didn't ask follow up questions.
"Hell no, I don't even think I ever gave that dumb ass my fuckin number" Damien answered
"Then who else are you texting me and Peck are your only friends" I reminded him
"Peck is not my friend, you're on thin ice, and I'm texting…Amber" He answered reluctantly
"Amber? As in your ex-girlfriend Amber? Dude what the hell is wrong with you?" I asked him and turned to gave him
"Hey don't come for me; When you were simping over Mateo, giving him free food, and offered to babysit some kid so he could get piped down on Valentine's Day" Damien reminded him
"Did I ever call you stupid or make fun of you" Damien added
"Yes" I answered squinting at him
"Shut up" Damien said and went back texting
"Besides unlike you and Mexican Mister Roger me and Amber have history" Damien said gloating a little
"History? Didn't she shoot you?" I reminded him
"And she apologized and also gave me head so it's whatever" Damien shrugged off
"Shut up Joel coming" I shushed him as Joel got into the car
"Hey babe, Hey Damien"He greeted us both and kissed me on the cheek
"Hey let's head off" I said trying to hide my high pitch voice
We headed off to Mateo house, Damien was on his phone the whole time and Joel was mostly looking out the window
I was really glad neither of them were paying attention to me because I was so nervous.
My entire body was shaking, I could feel myself sweating, and I was doing everything in my power to slow my breathing.
I knew Joel wouldn't say anything while Damien was in the car but the idea of talking about it on top of the thing he already wanted to talk about would've definitely made me vomit again.
"Here" I said loudly and hurried out of the car as casually as I could so I can catch my breath
"Let's get this night over with" Damien said and walked out and Joel behind me
He walked over to me and grabbed my hand which for some reason made me feel better and also made me even more nervous.
"Ready?" He asked me and placed a hand on my check
"Yeah" I answered clearing my dry throat as we walked up to Mateo's apartment number
