(y/n) returned from patrol. She was switching out with Lloyd. Thankfully for her she knew Kai would keep her secret and even burned the scroll. Lloyd leaned against the door frame waiting for. "Quiet night?" He asked and she nodded in response. She nodded as she walked over to Lloyd and pressed a tender kiss to his cheek.
"I don't trust Harumi," (y/n) admitted. Everything about the Jade princess seemed off, that there was a snake hiding under the roses. (y/n) knew that her instincts were never wrong, the wind blew in a way that was warning her and when they first met (y/n) noticed a glint in her eyes. A glint of malicious intent.
"Why not? She's been kind enough to let us into the palace and requested that we protect the royal family and the mask," Lloyd questioned.
(y/n) kissed his lips, "I don't have any real reasoning except that I can just tell. I'm not saying to act on it, I'm saying be careful," (y/n) explained. Lloyd scanned over her face, there was a concern in her eyes along with a sadness, it gave her a far off look as if she were leaving.
Lloyd took her hand, "(y/n) I promise I have no feelings for Harumi, I was lost in thought and my gaze lingered longer than it should have," he apologised, he hugged her, "(y/n) I would be lost without you, I feel that you're the only thing keeping me grounded. You've been with me through it all. The grundle, the overlord, Chen, you stood by my side when I lost my father and now my mother and uncle are gone. I can't lose you too," he whispered into her ear as he kissed her temple.
She leaned up and kissed his lips gently, "I trust you," she smiled, "you don't have to explain yourself." She yawned. "I'm going to head to bed, wake me when you get back from patrol."
"Rest well (y/n)," Lloyd bid as he leaped onto the roof. He was truly lucky to have her. Anyone else would have gone ballistic but she remained calm and heard him out first. He breathed a sigh of relief as he took his position on top of the roof.
Lloyd noticed a dark figure with a sack leap into the night. Quietly he followed the mysterious person.
He leaped roof to roof. Just as he grabbed a fire escape ladder, the ladder slipped and he was left dangling over the streets. He gasped as someone grabbed his hand and pulled him onto the roof before he could fall. Lloyd got into a fighting position, "who are you?" He demanded.
His eyes widened in surprise as Harumi flipped the green hood off her head. "Princess?! I thought you were a thief," He gasped as he pulled off his hood.
"So that what it was, it looked like I was saving you," Harumi smiled. Lloyd didn't know where (y/n) was getting her bad vibes from, Harumi generally seemed to be a nice person.
"Then what's in the bag?" Lloyd asked her.
"Food for the less fortunate. Even though I'm confined to the palace I still try to give what I can," Harumi explained.
"The princess is gone! Find her!" Hutchins' voice rang into the night.
"They can't know I left the palace; you have to disguise yourself, hurry," Harumi insisted as she pulled a grey hoodie from a nearby clothesline, they leaped from the roof and dashed into the markets slowly walking into the crowds.
One of the stalls caught Lloyd's eye, a vendor selling jewelry. "Can I help you with anything son?" the elderly stall owner asked with a kind smile. Lloyd thought of (y/n). He held his breath; he didn't know why the thought had randomly popped into his mind but the thought of asking (y/n) to marry him made his heart melt.
"Just browsing," Lloyd replied as he followed Harumi down another alleyway and away from the markets and into the poorer areas of the city.
"Somethings are easier to do when you're not a princess, if I asked my parents, they would never allow it, but these people are hungry and we have so much food in the palace, " Harumi softly smiled.
