Chapter 3:{Dripping Venom}

It was the next morning, the sun beams glared on Leonardo's face. Leonardo's face twitched as he slowly opened his eyes, his eyes meeting bright sunlight. He sheilded his eyes as he slowly sat up, he rubbed his eyes as he sluggishly looked around, seeing both Carter and Pearl still asleep. He got out of his sleeping bag, as he started rolling it up, he then carried it over to his backpack packing the sleeping bag in it.

He didn't bother changing clothes...though, he rummaged through his backpack and got out a cloak he then put it on. He hates to admit it but there's no doubt in his mind that both Carter and his parent's are looking for them so this should hopefully provide some cover for them. Unfortunately though he didn't have one for Pearl, since he didn't know she was coming with them, maybe they could stop by a local market and get her a cloak. Though it would be hard since they were technically in a fire region and water signs are not all that welcomed here as you can probably imagine, they would have to travel to a ferus region.

Leonardo once again rummaged through his bag pulling out a map. He layed it on the grass and got some nearby rocks to pin it down to make sure it didn't blow away. His eyes started scanning the map until they finally landed on something he then dug through one of the pockets on his backpack getting out a pen. circling a certain area on the map, a plan was slowly forming in his head.

Carter:"Leonardo?"

What Leonardo had failed to notice is Carter waking up, so he got startled. He swiftly turned around and relaxed once he saw it was just Carter.

Leonardo:"Don't scare me like that Carter."

Leonardo said. Carter smiled sheepishly, as he rubbed his eyes to help with the drowsiness.

Carter:"Sorry about that Leonardo, but what are you doing?"

Carter asked having now noticed what Leonardo was wearing and the map.

Leonardo:"Oh, I'm trying to figure out where the nearest ferus region is, and the fastest way to get there."

Leonardo said. This caught Carters attention, he put his rolled up sleeping bag in his backpack then made his way over to Leonardo, seeing that a place on the map had already been marked.

Carter:"Why would we need to go to a ferus region?"

Carter asked, Leonardo looked at him like he was stupid for a second before looking back at the map.

Leonardo:"Well first of all we can't stay here, we're currently in a fire region. If anyone found you or Pearl, they'd probably put you in jail or kill you, and I would like to prevent both."

Leonardo said, a edge lacing his voice. Carter hadn't even thought of that, though it was a good thing Leonardo did.

Leonardo:"second of all, we need to get a cloak for Pearl to keep our cover, but it'll be next to impossible since I'm probably considered missing by now and you and Pearl are water signs."

Leonardo said, Carter sighed. Man this was quite complicated, but he was used to complicated. He looked over to Pearl then back to Leonardo.

Carter:"So no cloak for me?"

Carter asked, Leonardo chuckled then rummaged through his bag again getting out a second cloak and handing it over to Carter along with a pair of shoes. Carter smiled and took the cloak, putting it on himself along with the shoes, it was a lot cozier than he expected. You see Carters never worn a dry cloak or shoes before, since you didn't exactly need shoes when you have a tail for a lower half. So this was new.

Carter:"Well this is cozier than I expected."

Carter commented, and Leonardo barked out a laugh, Carter laughed as well. They soon composed themselves once more not wanting to wake up Pearl, Leonardo then looked back down at the map.
